Don't get the comment about CCP seeding the market with minerals. Where is your proof? If you can prove it then you might have a case otherwise most of your concerns don't add up. Hulk and Covetor are fleet miners now as it always should have been and best used in controlled space. The Mackanaw and retriever are utility with a little more tank, space, and bust and application solo or fleet. The skiff and procurers are for easy mode. The changes follow CCPs general formula of risk versus reward which rewards players who work together as teams. It is also inline with their goal to reduce the amount of ISK being earned from 'afk' activities.

TIDI = Increasing profit while decreasing service level to the customer disguised a nicely marketed benefit. What would Amazon have done here.

CCP doesn't need to seed minerals for they are already overproduced. That is one of the reasons why mining isn't the most profitable activity in EVE.(At least in High and low sec)

I don't mine for minerals while afk so the skiffs do not benefit me that much ... Id rather mine larger volumes during a shorter game session ...

Judging from some of the comments I've seen, many players do not understand the manufacture side of the game. And that side of the game starts with mining, but there is much more. So if you destroy the miners ability to mine, via suicide ganking, there is no way to build stuff and all the mining and manufacture skills become worthless.

I need large volumes of minerals because I'm a manufacture toon... skiffs are too slow to really progress in the game, with my play style...

If Eve were really a sandbox, when all the pvp players destroy all the miners, there would be no more ships, and the prices would go through the roof. NPC seeding destroys this aspect of the game.

If the pvpers were faced with a real sandbox situation, someone would make sure there was a supply of minerals. No need to worry though, the "CCP bots" will seed the market after all the Mining toons flee the game ...

SO to me EVE is all about catering to the sub-par pvpers, that can't hack low sec space pvp ....

I won't biomass my stuff, but I am CANCELLED. I'll check back in a year or so to see if CCP sees the light.
I mine.
A couple of things:
First, ganking happens. You need to learn to avoid it and/or live with it. Yes this is a shameless blog plug but read here, and you'll see how I deal with ganking: http://indecisivenoob.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/alternative-approach-yield-tank.html

Secondly, if you are a manufacturer, most of your minerals should be coming from purchases. I have an 8 char mining fleet, and if I spent all day mining, I'd barely have an hours worth of manufacturing minerals.

Honestly, I half want you to quit, since being an industrialist you are competition, but I half don't want you to, because that's letting gankers win. Choice is yours at the end of the day though.

P.S.
I'll happily look after your stuff while you are away, so it doesn't go to waste :p

Although usual tears are nice, I find the ones in this thread were finely aged.

Like a good beer or a fancy wine, your tears, aged for ten-years, are extravagantly delicious, with a distinct taste of pod in which they were fermented for all those years.

Can I have your stuff?

Dear CCP.

I got ganked while mining and it made me very upset. I will therefore claim to be quitting the game in the hope that the thought of losing my sub terrifies you so much that you will make PvP in high sec impossible.

Thanks

I guess all the whiners that could not hack 0 space pvp, and are to cowardly to hit a hard target, got their way by talking CCP into allowing mass suicide ganking soft targets in high sec, without meaningful consequence.

I've read tons of old forums and heard all the crying about how how care bear miners were destroying the game. What a joke. And what a total joke CCP listened to them.

You know, its the people that I enjoy....

Not exactly sure if serious but here goes:

Anybody who, after reading the OP, can then go to www.minerbumping.com, read The Code, and not say "Those New Order guys are right!" just isn't willing to understand that the carebears can NEVER be satisfied until Eve is nerfed out of existence.

Khsss My alt still mines in a paper hulk with no insurance for years and not once have I been ganked! I guess I don't know what I'm doing. Anyway I think you are too lazy or too cheap to keep playing and EVE is not the hobby you were looking for, good luck in finding what is fun for you. Blink

There is no "sandbox" in EVE. Whoever started that rumor is a liar.

If you mine every now and then, then you are not a manufacture toon and do not have a stake in the game I'm talking about, and not qualified to comment on "mining balance".

I specifically said I don't like to mine afk.

ITs not my fault I'm unhappy with Eve. It used to be a fun game. The game has changed, not me. See Patch notes.

I didn't read the entire thread but null sec is fairly safe at the moment with all the intel channels and ability to blob bubble gates, let alone systems lead down a route to a dead end i am pretty sure you can mass mine there.

All you need is to jump your miners into system with all their mining modules etc bubble up the in gate with about 50 large bubbles and eat popcorn.

I don't mine "every now and then" - I don't mine, ever, because manual labor is for space-peasants.

I am absolutely a manufacturer, however. I buy my raw materials, I manufacture stuff with them, and then sell the stuff for a profit.

Quote:
Calling eve a "sandbox" game is lie. CCP has always seeded the marked with non- player generated minerals, which I always objected to. Which debases minders players quality of time. Now CCP just decided to destroy high sec mining all together.

Uh, maybe once upon a time, but this hasn't been the case for many years now.

If you're unhappy with your position as a space-peasant, stop being a space-peasant.
