The most basic impact siphons will have is an increase in the price of R64 products. Hypothetically lets say everyone goes nuts dropping siphons everywhere and about 20% of current goo production is lost via siphons. Price rises- moongoo value goes up.

If we previously made say 500b per month on high value moons, a 20% increase would be a 100b cherry on top of that 500b per month. I'll take it.

Go nuts with them siphons guys Smile

Tears were almost certainly flooding out of the quoted person during the crafting of his post. You seem to feel that moongoo is being lost, meaning an increase in demand. No, it's just being redistributed, meaning that you're gonna take a 20% hit and everyone else is getting a 20% gain. It wouldn't be ridiculous to say that prices may go down due to attempted undercutting during firesales of moongoo.

10% of the moongoo siphoned will be destroyed by the siphoning process. So any theft will actually result in a reduced supply. The 20% number you quoted was wrong but you completely failed to understand the concept which is much worse.

Forgive me, o mighty goonlord (Roll), but the 20% number is your number, not mine. Since I'm working with your figures, would you care to explain your nonsensical concept?

If 20% of current moongoo production figures was to be lost, then surely we'd have to have double the number of moons we have now? TEN percent is lost by siphons, so a maximum TEN percent of total production can be lost.

Won't the corps just take the moongoo back out of the syphon before they destroy it?

10% Theoretically, with perfect coverage and perfect timing... assuming that none are ever discovered until full... and further assuming that they don't already own any of the possible moons in question. The latter wouldn't be an issue, as anyone siphoning will generate loss... however we have seen examples that would indicate that siphons won't be an issue in the sections of space they own.

As I said- my situation was entirely hypothetical but I base my opinion of whats gonna happen based on what people think who have been working with and analyzing these markets for years.

"So, short version? Prices rise, quite possibly very dramatically, and that's without even factoring in the effects of any future units. Needless to say, all your shiny and newly rebalanced Tech II ships are going to get more expensive."

Remember folks, anyone who is or was ever in a big nullsec is pure evil, because they're elitists. And being an elitist in a video game makes you worse than every despotic European leader in the 40's combined, you bad, bad, awful people.
