What about a dev blog that explain the future of incarna and says if it's still in development?
Just some infos without any promise.
Even if you say that it requires 6 months or years, at least we'll know it.

Not necessarily. More like - current PCs do not have the processing power to make carbon viable.

I *like* carbon and most things I've seen about it. But it's something that needs to be ruthlessly optimized for performance before it can be taken a step further... or wait years for technology to catch up with its processing requirements.

Forumites reminded them that they needed to refocus on the important FiS aspects of eve.

Like ship spinning, ship skins and logos, engine trails, and a new font. These are what really matter.

They've already explained the future. They said (and this is almost an exact quote) that Incarna is no longer in active development, but they may revisit it at a later date.

AKA, any incarna development that takes place won't happen within the planned release schedule that they have, so probably 2 years minimum.

Uhm what happened to Incarna? They're already discussing the Winter expansion and we haven't even left our CQ. What's up with that?

Edit: mainly I want to know where the rotunda is with all the bars and shops we were supposed to be able to open? Did that get tossed and I missed it?

The Incarna concept was seduced, hijacked and ultimately murdered by CCP thousand dollar jeans and CCP monocle who got drunk with Mittani in iceland and believed the leader of goonswarm when he trolled them that the Eve Player based was ready for microtransactions on top of their subs.

As a result Incarna was delivered with nothing but the NeX store for content.

Eve rioted.

Thousand dollar Jeans kept his head down.
Whereabouts of CCP Monocle is unknown.

Incarna was however strung up with piano wire from the lamp-post near the harbour and executed for other people's crimes.

Like ship spinning, ship skins and logos, engine trails, and a new font. These are what really matter.

The difference is that people actually asked for the return of ship spinning and engine trails. People have been asking for ship skins, logos and a new font for years.

Nobody asked for a rusted out room that burned up your video card attached to a microtransaction store that sold $70 monocles.

I think we can be pretty sure it's on the cards at some point in the future. Note Hilmar's slightly pugnacious offering in the "apology" devblog of WiS-inclusive gameplay as representing the ultimate vision for EVE's future.

And quite right too. Despite the occasional outburst of Neanderthal WiS-hating (even as shown in this thread) a secret bird tells me that a small majority of players really do want WiS at some point in the future, albeit with some proper gameplay and function, and not at the expense of FiS.

But CCP are probably not going to get round to it until they've really got the FiS drawing back lost customers again.

But players are asking for establishments, other common areas, Wis content, reasonably priced clothing , or clothing created by players, or even designed by players.

And as CCP now seems to be responding to players asking for stuff, those who want the above are going to keep asking.

The number of people leaving the game when CCP was focused on Incarna spoke louder than the roleplaying troublemakers who keep whining about their lost space barbies.

They were not focused on EVE Incarna, they were not working much on EVE at all. They were focused on WOD, to get it out of the door as soon as possible. That is why many left. Nothing new at all.

If they had been focused on both EVE WiS and FiS and hadn't brought that stupid NEX store into the mix, Incarna would have been received much better. What they gave us was a test labelled Expansion.

I do not yet see one feature planned for the winter expansion that would hold someone thinking about leaving EVE for more than a month.

Also I cannot imagine someone would join EVE now, because there are engine trails. Or ship skins.

Let me add that the correct term for someone who likes to dress up his ship should be "space barbie".
Someone who likes to dress up his avatar is a "station barbie" more like.
