Add a new class of capital on top of the Titan and Super Carrier

Why should it take forever to own a titan and the few available be almost impossible to own for most people? Forge some bigger ass ship and make capitals and super capitals more affordable. More fun for people who have the skills, something cooler to look forward to for older players.

Give me a super titan that is dockable, station like, that can be as good as an outpost and a huber-super-duper-carrier with big boss ass-kicking power.

I leave the details to you guys, but at the very minimum I would like to see 100 fielded fighter bombers in the carrier and 8 x doomsday in the titan...

Any comments? why will this work or will not work? What would look for in these new ships?

How about no... we have enough problems with Titans, we don't need an even BIGGER ship that will inevitably result in even more problems.

How much herp could a herp derp derp if a herp derp could herp derp.

Problems are what make things more interesting. You will have to find the solution and ensure that you own a few of these if you are a big alliance... it's time to shake things up a bit.

Not at all. I am just thinking that whenever I see a titan I can't help but think that it's not good value for money. So balance the price, make it more accessible and get some bigger ass ship on the field.

Yo, what's the logic? How many sub capitals are there in EVE? It's time we get more variety in the capital space.

I've always thought a portable station would be cool. You could have moving trade hubs that travel around low and null. A super titan though? No thanks.

"something cooler to look forward to for older players."

I've been around for about 5 years now and cruisers are still too big and fat for me to fly. It's not like all the older characters somehow naturally move on to bigger ships just because they can.

So what's the logic behind your statement? "A super titan though? No thanks."

Once upon a time people believed that the high cost and long build times of titans would make them rare. People now know better.

Drawing on this experience my response is this: NO.

Noticed that did you? Did it ever occur to you that maybe its like that on purpose?

All of the roles that need to be filled by capital ships seem to already be filled. The current ones need their balance pass before we think about adding new ones.

The example of marauders getting a bastion show clearly that there is a lot of space for improvement just below but within and above capital class too. Why not the equivalent of mini dread and mega dread? After all we have frigs, cruisers, battle cruisers etc in the lower class. I am just thinking that this would create a new capability with a lot of additional choices from a strategic point of view.

Please don't just say NO, I want to know the logic behind your statement. Saying NO is too easy.

"Improvement" does not equal "adding new ship classes". Mini and mega dreads would either obsolete the current dreads or be made obsolete by the current dreads.

If you can think if a distinct role for a new ship class to fill please let us know. Personally I think there may be room for some kind of anti capital subcap but I can't think of any way to make it work without being too niche to be worth it or silly OP in certain situations.

You could have capitals that have different bonuses and that have abilities like sub capitals ones but greatly amplified, for example pirate capital ships, with extra slots, better stats, better bonuses...

Going back to the thread purpose, I do think that bigger ships and a wider choice would make things a lot more interesting. In addition I would also recommend to open high sec to capitals with restrictions.

Yeah that is the other problem. There really is no way to fix a force projection and economic balance issue with ship changes.

So if it doesn't help balance at all then just throw up your hands and say "screw it"? Ha, nice one.

We already have pirate capitals. Do you not have one already? I guess there are still a few new options out there for you.

If the current subcap choices alone are not enough for you I don't think anything ever will be. As to hisec capitals, NO.
