I think the CEP and Senate should meet up in neutral territory, say Caldari Prime, and have an outing. Go hover-skiing down the Kaalakoita mountains at something. See whoever breaks the sound barrier first. Then both sides get to pick something for both groups to go to. The CEP would probably pick Asteroid Golf and the Senate would probably wind up going for either a super strip club or a Mind Clash tournament.

As hilarious as that sounds, the basic idea is not so bad.

Intaki would make a suitable neutral territory where the Senate and CEP could come to the negotiating table, instead of to an everchanging warzone area.

If the planet were to, say, become neutral ground, and an agreement and treaty could be struck...then the Intaki people, myself included, could choose to be part of that neutral standing, or remain Federal citizens. Defense of the system could be either handled as a joint operational agreement, or handled by, say, CONCORD.

Those Intaki who wish it gain an independence, those who do not remain part of the Federation. The State and Federation gain a neutral place to negotiate for any number of pressing issues, and possibly a way to bring the Empire and Minmatar to their table as well.

It does sound a bit like CONCORD, but without the space police aspect of that organization, this is merely an idea to create a neutral diplomatic world and venue.

Particulars could be discussed and hammered out if such an idea ever came to light.

And, i have said more than I usually do at any given time, I think itll be back to fishing for a while.

Such a lot of words to describe that cabal of greed, avarice and naked aggression that the Federation actually is. When all that wealth and power serves the balance sheet of CEOs and shareholders instead of the greater good, such as the received word of God and the civilising influence the Word has, it is no wonder the Federation is fractured and indecisive, lurching from one shambles to the next.

With the situation of a Minmatar fleet invading your territory in a fit of pique because you did not observe or respect some backwater barbaric custom of ancestor worship, the Federation should have seen the nature of those that you have chosen to ally yourself with.

The Federation should have seen that the firm but wise hand of God needed to guide the Minmatar to fulfill their potential.

But, like with the Intaki, the meddling and interference comes back to bite. I do not expect things to change. Either for the Intaki or for anyone else.

How exactly have the Intaki "bitten" the Gallente here? Obviously there are those among them who seek a path separate from the Federation. That itself is not a crime. There has been no Intaki replay of Nouvelle Rouvenor.

As always, the principle problem of Intaki Secession from the Federation's perspective is the propensity for our external enemies to involve themselves. The fashionable accusation that the Gallente can't resist meddling in the affairs of other Empires takes on a bit of context when Amarrians and Caldari are so eager to nudge themselves into Intaki business.

I don't, personally, care about Gallenteans having an opinion about State business, I really only care when Federation money and Federation influence and Federation forces try and enforce those opinions. I think everyone should feel the same way - you aren't ever going to prevent people having an opinion about something, so why waste your time trying to stop them airing those opinions?

Now if you catch Caldari financing Intaki seperatists, that would be a different matter.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Rejoice, Citizens of the State, and Intakis!
Today, the Intaki solar system was finally secured.
Gallente occupation is no more.

Good work Captain KIm.

It would be good to see the CEP starting to have much closer relationship with the Intaki secession movement. Work with them to start to create an independent Intaki nation in the Placid region with these captured systems.

We dont not come here as occupiers, but as friends to the Intaki people and friends of the Intkai secession movement against the Evil Empire of Roden & Blaque

Well, there goes the neighborhood...again.

No worries, change a few flags, change a few throw rugs, change a few names on adminstrative office doors...we're golden.

Only thing that sucks is that the holovid gets all messed up again with State channels replacing Fed ones...

In other words...the usual.

On the upside, I now have access to those restaurants I came to love so much on the Intaki homeworld.

But you can likely find an exact replica of those restaurants in Jita? :\

I dated an FDU pilot who showed me some of the local eateries. I expect nostalgia is as much a part of the experience as the skills of the chefs.

Oh, we fight the GMVA quite often, but thanks for the warning.

State Protectorate pilots crowing about having conquered Intaki again?

Kind of pathetic, really.

As I recall the Gallente and Caldari militias have both, at one point or another, "conquered" the entirety of the contested space for their own side.

If anything important or meaningful were actually going to come out of this mess, I feel like it would have happened already.

At least it wasn't a stirring speech complete with flags and cheering that promises only victory to come and the dawn of a new age for all mankind.

Like the last three times the FDU has taken the place back, I mean.

No, provided you like spicy food, Intaki cuisine is anything but disgusting. For a start they do things with seafood that you REALLY have to experience, and when they're not trying to strip the flesh from the inside of your throat, Intaki chefs are capable of extremely nuanced seasoning.

You should try it.

Oh, you mean dating the Intaki girl. Again, you should try it.

We can argue back and forth about the pro's and cons of State and Federation rule all day.

But the fact remains, the Federation has at its core, ideals. Freedom, liberty, a voice for all citizens regardless of wealth or birth.

The States core is about ISK, the accumulation of and rule by wealth.

If you want to know where the worship of money takes a civilization and its peoples, you need only open a history file.

"The Federation is not a defined region of space, of planets, of mountains, rivers, or woods. It is a vision." - Former President of the Gallente Federation, Arlette Villers.
