You know, rabid foaming in-your-face Atheism is still a form of prostelyzation (sp?) yeah?

Stop being a religious zealot.

I wonder if you can tank God's wrath with a dual rep incursus and capacitor injector.

Wait. No.

Maybe a dual rep Wolf with capacitor injector.

But then you can't get tackle on God if you have an afterburner.

Yet another example of a thread that serves only to show why I prefer to avoid preaching or proselytizing in public forums.

It is an act of wasted breath when pushed upon those whose ears have no desire to listen, or upon those whose idea of comedy is to act like a bunch of tittering schoolchildren attempting to find lewd ways to interpret everything an adult says because they can't be bothered to listen to the lesson.

Preach in private or in such public venues where your fairy tales are asked for and appreciated. You can hardly blame those of us who don't wish to be subjected to this kind of drivel for lashing out. We didn't ask to be evangelized, patronized or insulted. In summary; if you wish to be respected, you must also be respectful of others.

Insulting the very people you're attempting to curry favor with is not only poor salesmanship, it's also just plain dumb.

If you really think that, why did you offer your support to Asias Urazmie, the Blood Raider representative ?

Unless, as usual, you were being insincere, and "hey guys, guys, guys, I was just trolling". of course.

I am unsure, Miss Rella, if you are attempting to disagree with me and failing, or agreeing with me and being unclear about it: you've more or less restated my point, albeit with different wording.

I am not much of a sermon-giver. I never have been - dear Merram was so much better at it than I, and he enjoyed doing it while he was still with us. I partake in the activity a few times a year in my holdings for holidays, where it is an expected duty. Otherwise, I normally have people on hand for whom it is their job.

If I had to preach to an assembled host of people who were not of the faith, and the goal was conversion, this is the last place I would ever do such a thing, closely followed by a Neocom-accessible channel such as the Summit. A private - or semi-private - venue would be much preferred, given it would actually allow me to perform the task given to me.

This is a terrible place to do so, because of the people whose ears the message reaches, and of the people whose hearts and minds resonate with the ideals of the Faith, the vast majority of them would never step up on this forum and say so for fear of ridicule and other poor treatment.

On the other hand, those who would behave like disruptive little schoolchildren are all too common, and drown out the message of the one giving it - whether you or anyone else consider the message well-intentioned or not.

To Mr. Ixiris:

Shaman Siikanen has a very good point: you yourself are proselytizing. And doing so in an extremely rude, insulting and arrogant fashion.

How ironic.

Indeed, I receive better treatment when I preach the Scriptures in Local channels around Devoid and Metropolis and the Bleaks, for there at least amid the insults are some who are still open to the Word of God. I've gotten private words of support even from members of notorious organizations like BANE and Shadow Cartel and also the odd TLF'er dragged into war only on the whims of his CEO.

Sadly, the IGS has buffer tanked its heart against God.

Since we were talking about trolling, I have an overwhelming urge to say something about how your disbelief is a belief and so on, but I don't think I could contain my giggles for long enough to pull it off.

It's a sermon. They sometimes last over an hour. If anything, he's drastically curtailed it for this venue.

I respect your opinion as a leader of the TMC media organization.

However, consider that a sermon and a TMC article may have very different measures of success. A sermon that comparatively few read to the end, but of those that do, they are terrorized to the core with the Wrath and Judgement of God is to be considered a roaring success. Other times, the effect of a sermon is not immediate; rather, a seed is planted that will someday grow into true faith in God and service to his holy instrument in the world, the Amarr Empire.

Unfortunately, you have failed in that goal. The analogies you have used have provoked mostly a humorous effect. I almost thought this was satire at first. Comparing the Wrath of God to starship components is wrong for the audience. There are billions of baseliners that read the IGS, but only a few will have any idea what you are talking about. The capsuleers on this forum do, but will giggle at the clumsiness of the analogies. "God is EWAR immune?" That implies that one can even hope to resist the Wrath of God in the slightest way, by targeting, which is absurd. Analogies can be useful, but they break down quickly. By continuing the analogies, your sermon has become the subject of ridicule.

Here's a helpful example:
God's Wrath and Judgement are so great and inescapable, that one would have a better chance dancing naked on the surface of a star.
