I have manually put the GPU fan speed to 100%, the temperature has dropped to 57-58C.
All the other fans in the case are visibly working, 2 large case fans, GPU, CPU and PSU.

As I said I am overdue an update, the 7850/7870 was what I was looking at.
As for the 7950 being cheap, I looked yours up, XFX 7950 £225, on offer @ £176 still not what I call cheap.

Well if a new card is out of the question (for the time being) I would recommend getting the Arctic Accelero Mono Plus Vga Cooler for your GPU its £26.99 on the site you linked and it will fit your GPU

Have a look at this link and what cards it supports http://www.arctic.ac/worldwide_en/products/cooling/vga/accelero-mono-plus.html

If you wanted you could also grab a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo from the site you linked for £26.79 and that would take care of your CPU heat problem.

Granted its £53.78 for them both but it would take care of all your heat problems (and would be allot quieter as well) 100% on thows blower style coolers sounds like a jet from what I can recall

Based upon what you have said really that is all I can recommend if cleaning and swapping the ports dont work you would need to upgrading the cooling on at very least the GPU

But my strongest recommendation goes to getting a whole new 7900's card for the £30 price difference between them and the 7800's the performance gain is worth it. I am saying this because cooling may not be the whole issue (its certainly part of it tho) you card my just be plain braking down and you would basically be chucking £30 in the wind.
