In-Game Events and Gatherings

NPC corps are a temporary launching point for all new players. We join, we leave and we lose contact with many of the rookies who made our first impressions of the game a blast. And that really is the difference between npc and player corps - SWA will always have a large and vibrant community so long as CCP continues attracting more players to the game.

Over the years we've attempted to organize this ineffectual rabble for events ranging from weekly low sec roams to lotteries. Once again, this is an attempt to foster fun cooperative play, regardless of the ineptitude and shenanigans in corp chat.

TLDR

State War Academy invites its members to participate in a 5v5 Team Tournament. The prize pool amounts to 1 Billion isk to be privately bankrolled. Prize money will be rewarded to the top 3 teams:

1st Place - 500mill (100mil per member)
2nd Place - 300mil (60mil per member)
3rd Place - 200mil (40mil per member)

Registration for teams will begin 11/2 (or 2/11 for you wacko Euros) November the second and extend for a week until the ninth on a first come first serve basis. This is an open invitation - non SWA members can still compete however the character registering the team (and who will also participate) has to be in SWA. If you are interested in leading a team to victory, mail Obliviousone in game with your 5 man pick with an appropriate subject line so I'll know.

Rules are as follow:
This is a 5v5 team fight.
8 teams in single match eliminations.
There will be a 5 minute time limit per match.
After 5 minutes, the team with the most ships still alive advances.
If there is a tie, another match will be set up (lets be real, they're frigates, cheap as hell).
t1 Frigates ONLY.
Meta fittings up to 3 allowed.
Different ship compositions can be used each round.
1 logi 1 ewar ship per team only, if you use them.
the "Arena" encompases 50km around the referee - you go out of bound you are "out".
ships are to start no more than 10km from the referee.

If you would like to volunteer to be an event organizer please mail me with whatever specialty you're into. Event donations gladly accepted - I will be as transparent as possible and donations will only go towards the prize pool.
