Back to topic. I think you'll have a lot of fun. The first forays into low sec are exciting times :)

I would go for the Cyclones. You want a ship that can work in a number if different scenarios and the clone is pretty good for this. You won't really be able to pve effectively in a Scyfi and they're also pretty hard to fly well in pvp (though awesome). If you're flying as a two man crew you can do fairly inventive things with the two utility highs as well such as remote transfers.

Main thing about the Cyclone is that it's a cheap, throwaway troll BC, a poor man's bait Drake if you will. It has it's uses as long as you're not to attached to it Lol

Cyclones are cheap, fast - nano ones outruns a plated ruppy, the shield boosters got buffed wich means old school active tank has some use again.
Throw in a standard blue pill and you may surprise some ppl.
And the drone bay gives some flexibility: let say one flight of warriors ans another one with TP drones to apply better the dps
