An individual claiming approval by an organization is not the same as an organization explicitly granting approval.

Although between the spotlight on the corporation, and the same corporation's flaunting of the grace period to cease and desist (although the cease and desist was delivered to the intermediary, to 'clean up' their business practices) the line of separation is rapidly disappearing.

Honestly, he's probly a wee bit upset that he has to cash out now (the obvious motivation here) and that they won't be getting an additional hundred thousand+ over the next few months.

Microsoft is a company. Bill Gates established a charitable trust with his wife and do much much for the global commmunity. Yet oddly we don't see Microsoft being given special treatment such as non-profit status, while still being a for-profit company.

But I guess analogies like this are way above the heads of the peanut gallery here.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against casinos but one set up with this many layers of protection, with no legal license to operate anywhere in the world, picking on those who would delude themselves into believing that isk isn't real money so its ok. Even though that isk cost them thousands.

And now to try and squeeze as much money out of the EvE community while it can. This is no community site, it is a business out for them selves pure and simple.

Andrev is already hinting at "we'll see how we can keep the site up without GTC sales" and didn't reject the possibility of paypal donations. rofl. these dudes truly have no shame. the eve community has given them hundreds of thousands of dollars.... you guys likely paid for their new commercial space and for Somer's new residence... yet they still will take more of your CASH to give you the privilege of gambling away your isk on their site.

at this point it seems pretty damn clear they are operating as a business... in breach of the EULA

Its ok guys they never made any substantial real life money from EVE Online and it went for server upkeep anyways Roll

Servers are expensive you know, especially when you get 1700 visitors per day!

It kind of saddens me to see you post this. Your original scheme seemed to run on the objective of being blatant enough to flatten the tires so CCP would have no choice but to act. But hey, if you can't beat them, join them, right?

I understand that because CCP has issued no formal stance this remains grey, as even the explicit permission for Somer to do so continues to be hearsay, yet driving on rims cannot be helped but to end badly.

I am only reopening this up to crush somers profits. He wants to cash out and at the moment he gets everyone. Wait till one day before might see 2b or 10b per ETC he does not need any of the isk he has. Somer is over on the 7th but till then i feel bad looking at all the profit he is making off a game he doesent care about. I have away to cut into that so i will try.

That is a really fishy statement. CCP is not banning SOMERblink from getting GTC referral money from Markee Dragon. CCP is just saying that SOMERblink cannot offer ISK or Blink Credits to players as a reward.

a. Did CCP act unethically?
b. Did Somer blink act unethically?

The answer to both questions is "Yes". People got rich from this and now the RMT part (which has now escalated into full blown RMT) will continue until the 7th. The EULA violation will continue as long as they continue to be a reseller.
