I currently hate Sov. I hate the pre arrange fights that timers cause. I hate the grinding.

Yet, I have no alternative so I will continue until somebody comes up with a better solution.

A solution that doesn't involve removing timers as all that will do is give even more power to the largest and most powerful entities like CFC and NC.Dot.

It wouldn't, again who has more numbers wins which to be honest no matter what method you come up with, it will inevitably come down to a numbers game.

Meh, I've just bummed myself out.

Yeah. Fweddit camping people into the station while amarr whips all the plexes and pushes the tier to max.

In fact, I was surprised to learn that while they also employ no fun allowed strategies... well, they rely on actually fighting now and then a bit more than we do. I suppose it's because they don't get to let it out on structures to the extent people in a sov war do.

"sense" of belonging, first of all.

Secondly, I have never really understood why one of the foremost avenues of attack for the highsec miner is to call it "not real pvp". That has always confused me. I mean, by definition any activity you take against another player is pvp.

real pvp is not anything which inconveniences them or otherwise causes them some sort of loss

when you really don't want to interact with other players there's no real pvp, just evil ganking, evil bumping, "griefing" etc etc

Huh. Kinda odd that they play EVE then. I mean, that basically encompasses the entire game.

Removing the automated mails is a good first step. You have 24 hours to notice the [Reinforced xx:xx:xx] in local which should be enough warning.

If you have no-one in system for 24 hours or you have members who ignore the overlay then I think that's a good indication you don't want that structure anymore.

Allows stealth grabs of "sov' systems and doesn't over-complicate things. At worst you'll just have to have alts log in and check systems each day, if you can't organize that with a 10k to 35k coalition or alliance.. tough ship

That's just you overthinking player interaction in eve online

I suggest you take a look at minerbumpingdotcom, in which the code describes bot-aspirants

I actually like this idea ^^ without the auto mail when somethings attacked the ll only notice when someone goes there. And if they want it they'll have atleast 1 member go there at some point in time :p

Well yes, it would be a first step in the right direction. But it shouldn't be the ONLY step that needs to be done.
I approve any sov-change suggestion that causes a "sov-by-activity" playstyle.

Or perhaps reverse the whole process.

Instead of this:

Reinforcement
1. Shoot structure till reinforcement
2. structure goes reinforced and pops up system wide [reinforced] alert
3. Wait 24 hours
4. Shoot structure and possibly fight

do this

Energy Siphon
1. Drop a pos siphon-like device that drains the structure of strontium over 24 hours and immediately pops up system wide alert
2. Wait 24 hours and hope no one notices and kills your siphon
3. Shoot structure and and possibly fight

Grinding meaningless structures is the bane of EVE PVP, and people want to add more of them. You're idiots.
