With the coming of Rubicon there is an acknowledged memory leak with DX11 and be only way to get Eve to run in DX9 is by going through the launcher. My question is, because launcher does NOT launch in windows 8 and 8.1 how will this be rectified.
Further the repair tool has become unable to patch any further patches to eve. Yes I have already installed a fresh copy of eve but it still doesn't update. Thanks.

And please don't say - Reinstall windows 7 because many computers come with windows 8 preinstalled so there is no means for them to downgrade to something that wasn't there in the first place.

Launcher works just fine in 8 and 8.1. I know from experience.

How are you getting your launcher to work? Mine just opens and closes it doesn't let me do anything.

Either run it as an administrator or do a clean install. The windows 8.1 launch has some serious errors that microsoft is ignoring.
The biggest one for me was that a number of applications installed in windows 8 lost all of their security privileges, including EFT which lost all access to being able to read and write files.

I really did nothing to make it work. It was working on win 8 and after upgrading to 8.1 I never had any problem. I use professional version.
