There are only 2 ships being discussed in that thread, one the SOE frigate and the other the SOE cruiser. Any others would not have applied to that discussion. I'll similarly agree to disagree, but lets not be obtuse about the information presented.

I haven't read much of the Known Space series aside from the odd Ringworld book, so I was thinking more from a CoDominium perspective… but I suppose they would have reused their nifty ideas in other works as well.

These new SOE ships look a lot like the node ring Human ships in Sword of the Stars series.
