I'm just wondering, are there any requirements to join? If so what are they?

There are really no requirements. It is better if you have some scanning skills, flying a Drake is good but not a requirement (PVE), if you want to do Black OPS, a stealth bomber is a good start. If you want to mine ABC or Gas some mining skills in a crusier is good. We also do some roams and raids of other whormholes.
