Hi, So I guess you are new to eve ?
I have to tell you already, I think it is a shame that so many people stay or are in the NPC corps.
that is not where eve is meant to be played from, instead I encourage everyone to go find the right corp for you.

There is tons of corps out there, just waiting or doing their best to find you.

I wrote a small blog post about tips and advice on finding and joining the right corps, and some of my experience.

Read it over here: http://eveblog.dsan.dk/?p=105

I realize now, that it says next to nothing about exactly how to go about searching for it, but I can easily answer that in this topic, in another blog post or if you contact me in game. I would be happy to help you out of that sad NPC corp.

Best regards Dsan

Good stuff there.
I would personally warn rookies to stay in the NPC corp for ~3 days or so (or however long it takes to run the tutorials these days) in order to get a feel for what they like, in order to better filter out the corporations that will simply be a poor fit.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Good advice, for sure.
I haven't experienced the new tutorials, aswell as I think I was distracted from mine in the beginning.

I could hope that the new player experience is so catching, that you keep playing without interruption till you are done with it.
So I imagine people come out of tutorials and start looking for where to go.
