Sorry, but this may have been true years ago but Jita (surrounding areas) are in near constant TiDi, so are many other hi-sec systems - even wormhole systems go into TiDi.

Not arguing, just making the point that TiDi exists more than I thot it would outside null.

Please continue.

[Day 53 of the 300 Day War]

It was a hot day in the Ikao station. Our pilots were sitting in the station lounge waiting for the US-TZ pilots to clock in. Ship repairs have been completed. All that was left to do for the night was to finish locates for the next shift. The station’s HVAC system was down and with M-Division Union on strike, there was little chance of getting any relief. Detective J and Jigsaw Jake were sitting in their corner table leaned back in their chairs. The overhead fans running on high did little to cool the room, but the young hot waitress had the promise of a cool, wet… “Two tall glasses of iced beer,” she said placing them on the table. With a polite nod, J and Jake reached for the glasses and devoured the two drinks.

Suddenly, a war target enters local. Caught between two shifts, Detective J and Jake scramble back into their pods and within seconds, they undock in a legion and a stratios and warped to random gates. Our normal network of spies was not operating and so we had no idea where the war target came from or where he was heading. What made it worse was that there was no way to know if this was a scout to a much larger fleet. After a few stressful minutes, the war target jumped out of the system through one of the gates that was not guarded. About 20mins later, Jake sends a scout drone into Halaima and finds the war target. Immediately the drone begins its search routines, checking gates, scanning the belts and then checking stations. As the drone landed at the station, the Apocalypse Navy Issue (ANI) war target undocks. Detective J and Jake begin to set up the ambush at the Halaima gate in Kamio - hoping he would go there.

But in war, nothing ever goes as planned. Instead the ANI warped to a dead space, maybe to do a mission or maybe to escape into a wormhole. Immediately, the scout drone begins to probe down and locates the ANI. As the scout drone lands on field, the ANI had just finished its mission, but rather than warping out, he began slow-boating his prop-less faction battleship to the wrecks on field. He was looting the wreck from his mission!

Already on edge, past their shift, working overtime and dreaming of that waitress and her two iced beers, Detective J and Jake jump into the system. Luckily, the ANI wasn't paying attention to local. In fact, he began to react to the attack after about 10 seconds into the fight. Not having any effective weapons against the vicious cruiser sized hulls, the ANI quickly lost his ship. His capsule insta-warped off to a gate and escaped. On their way back to Ikao, Dective J saw the same war target auto-piloting in a shuttle. Some people never learn. The shuttle and the pod were destroyed.

Normally, the story would end there, but about 30 minutes later, the same war target had re-shipped. Expecting to find another shuttle, J and Jake quickly get into a Malediction and a Stratios and warped to the Kamio gate to meet the shuttle. But this time, it wasn’t a shuttle….he landed in a legion! I guess it was time for him to get some payback! After Jake made the tackle, the war target immediately engaged - I guess he had a Quafe Zero or two. Unfortunately for the war target and quite possibly a lesson to be learned, heavy pulse lasers have a hard time tracking interceptors! Realizing this mistake, the war target switched to Detective J’s Statios.

A minute later the war target was leaking structure, and it became clear he was about to lose his legion. This time, his pod escaped, but as he left the system, he let us know we were "so pro" for winning a "2v1." Whatever!

The Pursuit of Happiness has destroyed 67 ships totalling 6.7B isk without a single loss.

Don't ever underestimate your opponents!

Well OK, 2 vs 1... Point wise the strength was pretty equal. Though he had some ****** single rep fit on that Legion so he died while I survived in half armor.

Are you going to fight me or do you expect to bore me to death with your forum pvp?

How frequently you see us in Jita? We are not trade hub campers. The few kills we get there are mostly when pursuing someone there or when our targets are Jita station campers ( quite a time since last occurrence) . Where we make 90% of our activities there is no TIDI. In fact in last 6 months I have not been in TIDI a single time.

If you undock in a combat vessel during war, it not ganking, because you KNEW the danger and you decided (mistakenly) you were capable smart to defeat the adversities.

And EVERYONE in eve will gtfo when there is 0% chance of winning. Saying the is a sign of cowardice is as stupid as you can be. No one will fight with a 20:1 ratio of enemies fit specifically to kill you. Anyone that does that is an idiot. We are not idiots.

We oblige to several fights where we are outnumbered, but of course if we find a solo target we will not let him pass freely just because he is a poor soul that is alone. Its HIS FAULT that he is alone!

Paraphrasing Selene "We are not playing YOUR version of Mercenaries". We are not looking for 1v1, we are not roleplayers, we are not WoW players, so there is zero reason for us to want that, and we do consider anyone that think this is a problem.... to deserve pity.

I like tight fights where skill matters. It's really hard to find fights like that in highsec, thats why I usually roam low/null. Sometimes with few friends and usually solo (without links/scouts). I find boring chasing people that don't really want to fight you. For those intrested: you can find lots of pvp videos of this playstyle from "my eve" section of these forums.

Ganks don't make good pvp vids, maybe thats why highsec pvp is not represented that well there Pirate

You act in a quite arrogant way with your prposterous presumption that what we do is ganking. From time to time we cross with an idiotic hauler or orca that is defenseless. But i DOUBT you would not kill a hauler you found in 0.0 either.

The ratio of "real fights" and gankign in 0.0 and high sec is about the SAME . And I know because I lived a few years in 0.0 and several in low sec.

what he means to say is we know where their pvp pilots hang out so we avoid the area like it has the plague. WE try find pve pilots running misson then slap ourselves on the back for being so cool at pvp. We so proud we even have to tell everyone. We still avoid where their pvp pilots live but we soooooooooooooooo cool.

You see. Lets reverse the arguement. The great pvpers know where we are, yet they chose not to come and fight. Instead, we have to dedicate time to running locates so we can go to them. And here's the punch line, we then get criticized for one of the following: ganking, using logi, killing missioners, killing miners, station camping, operating in highsec....

The gank ships you're referring to is an interceptor and a stratios...LOL. really man?

Bottom line, you're just jelly and I'm loving it!

So anslo's comments made me wonder...is there something to this lowsec? Could it be that in lowsec 1v1s are honored, where tanks are nonexistent, where only the true pvpers gather to hone in their skill? Let me check the killboards....

Ahhhh.....nope. Ganks abound. More or less than highsec, it would be a guess either way. This thread was never meant to brag about how great we are at highsec wars. It was about people who underestimate the ability of a small gang to fight and win.

So sinsmore read between those lines....
