People like him who use a crapload of chars - usually miners with 10+ accounts - to accomplish a good iskflow is not a wrong choice ....it is however in my mind a choice for those too lazy or dumb to use a bit more of their brain to gain the same endresult.

Huge respect for this guy! Man.

Characters are a lucrative source income, if he feels like he doesn't want to multibox to that extreme anymore he can just sell off all of those accounts!

The amount of time spent to plex the account is pretty much the same regardless of the amount of accounts. For example, it may take 9 hours of top end mining to make enough isk to plex that account, but every hour after that is pure profit so to speak. If you multiply this by X number of accounts, the amount of isk earned after that 9th hour grows proportionate to the account. So while it may only be 60 mill an hour after that for one account, it could be 600 or in this case nearly 6 BILLION an hour after that 9'th hour. Anyone can do this if they really want, it just takes a bit of time but most of all it requires a lot of startup ISK. If you can afford 60 plex, you start with 20 accounts and skill them up and mine while skilling them up. when you have enough isk to buy another 20 accounts worth , you do that and steadily increase your number. This gets lucrative but only if you have the will.

I"m sure there are operations with lot more than 90+ accounts out there.

It makes perfect sense, mining is relaxing but a little light on interactivity. So you're exponentially increasing your isk and linearly increasing effort.

I want to know though, how is this guy "ruining" the game for anyone?

Tell me again about how every playstyle you dont engage in "doesn't require any effort" and everyone who does it needs to die in a fire. Be sure to mention about how you tried it once but it was too easy/boring/ethnic-homophobic slur.

Assuming he's not cheating then this is very much in the spirit of the game. Innovate, expand and profit in whatever way you can until the parameters of the game prevent you.

If an alliance FC gets 100 willing people to assign their sentry drones to a fast locker and that one ship proceeds to run a fleet fight without any input from the 100 other pilots, is that an example of unethical and overpowered multi-boxing?

People work ingeniously within the boundaries of the game in order to gain advantage. This guy is no different. While his activities would be seen as distasteful to most, we all dine out on stories of fleet fight where we've mostly pressed the F keys on one man's say so. People in glass houses etc............

You could actually flip an ongoing sov war with that many bombers or doctrine ships.

He may have been doing that. I was going through his killboard for indications that he tried to do it but lost interest before I found anything. His corp has a decent record.

Hasn't lost a Mack in months, so he must be ballin'.

Tell me how he ruins your fun?

It's not what I call fun, but what he/she is doing doesn't have any impact at all on anyone else.

Are you a carebear miner who has had these icicles mined away from you? Is that how he's ruining your fun?

I agree with you on the New Order thing though. Would make an interesting blog post from James.

it does have impact on other people as ice is a somewhat limited resource.

that said I don't care much about that as just thinking about warping in some disco bs makes the opportunity for lulz out weigh any negative feeling about him wiping out ice belts.

Conclusion:
This guy needs to mine more than 2 complete anomalies a day just to support his entire fleet.
The conclusion was drawn assuming the initial data are correct (I am no miner I have no idea about how much can be gained from a single ice anomaly)

FYI a single ice belt mined out is about 2-2.5bil, not 1.5 for both. Putting him at a hair over 120b/mo if he did two a day.

I can agree with this. I can make several B per month by trade in Jita only with one char. But if I would be a miner, i would do exactly what this guy do. Maybe not with 97 chars but 10-20.

This is the beauty of sandbox. Even mining can be hi-yield profitable although it needs more effort (even with isboxer).

Interesting he sets to orbit one ship. It would be...interesting, if that single ship were ganked. All those mining ships, flying off in all different directions. Whee!
