Future skills training plans for 3 Character

Hi all,

I need some advice from some of the more experienced players here. At the moment, I have 3 active characters which are currently being skilled for its respective ship roles. Please refer below:-

First Charater: Caldari Missile Ships for Level 4 Missions
Second Character: Machariel Turret for Incursion Runs
Third Character: Scimitar Logistic for Incursion Runs

I am very close to completion of all the skills required to undertake the roles that I need for each of the characters. The problem now is, I have no clue what to skill for after that. I plan to perhaps venture into other roles such as PVP, Mining, Ratting, Industrial. However, I'm not too sure which character to train for the other roles I plan to venture into (For example, should my Caldari Missile Ship train for PVP, Mining, Ratting?, or should my Mach Turret be traning for PVP, Mining Ratting?)

I hope someone with more experience in training different characters could advice me on this. It would certainly be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Can we assume that all of the toons are on the same account?

If so I would train one up for exploration. You can get into Wormholes and other anomalies. I am not big on mining but you can get into manufacturing if you are looking for passive income.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.

Carrier or JF is always handy.

I can tell you what I did and give you my *standard* reply, which is:

What you DON'T WANT, is 3 characters that do the exact same thing. 3 distinct career paths will open up so much more of EVE, faster.

My first character (me) was Caldari, missiles, PVE. I eventually put him into cap ships and at some point started training guns and such. My toons are kinda old, so they did start overlapping skills at some point. Many of my skill plans were actually labeled 'Opposite of Paine', or 'Opposite of Revenge'.

My second toon was industry and trade based. Manufacturing, invention, mining, transporting, etc. I used him a lot and still do, though I don't invent or mine much any more...
He was trained for perfect scanning, perfect leadership, rigging, etc. To truly give great support when needed to the other toons.
I keep him semi-secret, and separated from my PVP characters. Because sometimes I like to log in and just chill.

My third guy, I kept him all sub-caps and gunnery. No missions, pure PVP. Missile skills were last for him (still not too good really)
He is probably a better PVP pilot than my main, who is a year older.

These days, I wouldn't recommend taking the Caldari pilot into Cap Ships. Take the Armor tanking guy there.

Thanks for the great reply. Unfortunately, my main character would be the Caldari Missile PVE. If not taking the Caldari pilot into Cap Ships, what else can he venture into.

As for my other 2 characters:-

Second Character: Machariel Turret for Incursion Runs > I plan for this character to mainly be for gunnery and PVP.
Third Character: Scimitar Logistic for Incursion Runs > I plan to use this character mainly for supporting, mining, transporting, manufacturing.

Quite similar to what you have at the moment.

Your first guy could go into cap ships. I just wouldn't recommend Caldari caps. (That's what I should have stated in the first post) Perhaps Hybrid guns (Caldari guns) might lead you to a Moros, and those related skills would help with a Nyx. Archon is probably the current *preferred* carrier.
Amarr have some missile platforms and some drone platforms that might cross over.

There are so many skills that make a good cap ship. Many of them in navigation, tanking, cybernetics, Drones, etc. A good carrier will be trained at carrier V. T2 triage module, T2 siege module for dreads, etc.
These skills add up to many months (years?) of training and they also cost hundreds of millions. It's just very important to think it out.

I picked away at my cap skills over time. Forced in 1 skill here and there, long before I owned a cap ship.
Regardless of race, the nav skills apply to all , the drone skills apply to all.

Your third guy could share the nav skills as a jump freighter pilot.
Again, and you will see, once you have a few months into cap specific skills, that character will most likely be 'THE' cap pilot.

I do feel that my First and Second character are going to be training the same skill set in the near future if I go for Moros, Nyx and Archon as those ships require gun training which my Second character is currently skilling for.

maybe something like:

First Charater: Caldari Missile Ships for Level 4 Missions -- > Black ops BS (BS5, Cyno 5, astrometics 5) / or train hauler/JF
Second Character: Machariel Turret for Incursion Runs --- > T2 sentries\drones\will help for cap ships/cap ships
Third Character: Scimitar Logistic for Incursion Runs --- > loki/Interdictors/interceptors/boosting

Not much of miner so can't help there. Guess it also depends on where you plan to go in eve.

So here are my recomendations on this take them how you will.

First Charater: Caldari Missile Ships for Level 4 Missions
Go for a rattlesnake so train up galante bs and drone skills. T2 sentries will take a little while to train and are worth it. These skills will help if you deside to go for a carrier so it lets you get better at your goal of lv4 missions short run while training for caps for the future.

Second Character: Machariel Turret for Incursion Runs
Personaly I would make this one a subcap only PVP. Train up your pvp skills and then begin branching into the other races to grab other skills. Eventualy you are able to fly a whole bunch of ships well. And because you have gun skills trained on this one crossing into gal and amarr is much eaiser.

Third Character: Scimitar Logistic for Incursion Runs
Perfect scanner is always worth it, or if you want to try industry you can train on this toon. A hulk isent that long of a train its all the T2 crystals which arent worth it half the time. You could make a booster alt as well to give more boosts to the other 2 toons. And then you could make this one a salvager to clean up sites if your toons are on sepperate accounts.

Once again pick what you want to train for and train it. There are so many skills on my toons that I dont use but I wanted to try once *Cough* Logi 5 ... Its eve so do what you want.

Thank you very much for your recommendation on this. It definitely gives me a wider perspective of what are the possible roles I can skill into.

Anyone else got any further recommendation on this?

Would greatly appreciate any assistance on this.
