Station Services (they really push my buttons)

The station service buttons are typically a waste of space. The smaller version option is just an admission. They aren't often used, but are useful. I think new players need them, but I'm tired of looking at them. Plus, on a laptop, they just eat space. Here are some ideas:

Add an option to move StnSrv buttons to a tab.
Add an option to hide the StnSrv buttons behind the corp logo (hover to show). *
Add an option to remove redundant buttons.
Add an option to remove non-informative, redundant buttons. *
Create a "Station Services" menu button.
Create a group that appears on the normal NeoCom.
Just let us customize what buttons show.
Just use small icons like normal interface/toolbar. They don't need to be so huge.

(Note: This is just some brainstorming. I'm not saying all of these ideas should be implemented, or that they even would work together. The ones with a star (*) are my faves.)

Gone are the days when market, fittings, manufacturing, research, etc. were only available from the station buttons. This is archaic.

Problems / Solutions

Indicators: I do use these buttons sometimes. When I'm in a station, that is the easiest way to see what it offers. I don't want them to disappear completely (hence, I don't like them menu button idea, and I'm iffy on the remove redundant idea). That said, information like this is better off in some kind of fancy pants tool tip. Hover over the corp logo and you get the info. Maybe you get the buttons revealed too.

New Players: The interface of EVE is a part of the learning curve. Having large, even redundant, icons does make sense. I like them when I was new to EVE, but in those days you were forced to use them. That's why I think a lot of this stuff should be optional.

Alternatives

I know you can just minimize the StnSrv window, but I use it for agents, ships, undocking, etc.
