So I have been playing EVE off and on for 4 years. I just recently moved to null sec and can honestly say that it was a great move.

With the right corp and alliance it's great. . I am still learning a lot but can't wait to get in some pvp. Anyone who has not made the decision to move for what ever reason needs to reconsider. It's null so not 100% safe but no where is.
I will say that I like it much more than WH space by a long shot. Complexes anomalies and ratting is far better than lvl4 missions.

I feel more comfortable in nullsec just in this short time than I have ever in hisec. I used to run solo with a alt
had to deal with grieving wardecs now I have people who look out for each other.

Just have to learn more about the life out here. Learn more about pvp and I can see that I will enjoy EVE more than I ever had.

Is your corp renting a system?

every time i moved to null i found it soul crushingly boring and thought "why do i keep trying?"

there was literally nothing to do there that i couldn't do more easily, or more profitably in high sec.

Welcome to the real EVE, I hope you'll enjoy it! Smile I felt much the same way when I first stepped into 0.0.

If it takes 4 years to make it happen, is that not bad game design ??

Yes, it is. Although I'd say a large part of it also comes from false advertising of 0.0 all over the forums and likely in-game in NPC corp chats and such.

Your assuming that the game is designed to get people to null, when it isn't. Sov Null sec is boring as ****. Unless you enjoy endlessly grinding sanctums and complexes and then occasionally blobbing up to wait hours on a titan only to eventually jump on someone and wait for the FC to tell you to press F1. If you win you then either go home having personally achieved nothing or you sit on a POS only having to pay enough attention to remember to reload from time to time.

No, it's completely unrelated to game design.

Null sec's appeal is down to the players that live there and in spite of the game mechanics that CCP inflict upon it.

I meant.........4 years to find a descent, appropriate Null Corp/Alliance.

Yes I would say 95% of the reason I had such a bad view of null and its players was due to these forums.

You just have not found the right corp. I just got lucky and managed to make friends over the past few years that happen to live in null and got myself into a alliance with its own sov

not really the corp has nothing to do with it, null sec just doesn't offer any activities that can't be done with less hassle in high sec.

Let me sum up this thread:

  • Player 1: My opinion about what is fun in this game is right.
  • Player 2: No my opinion is right.
  • Player 3: No my opinion is right and let me prove it objectively by giving out more opinions.

OP, if you really like nullsec then good for you and keep at it. Part of the fun is the people you fly with, you would be surprised at how much more fun grinding sanctums if you had 1 or 2 more people running them with you an you were all on comms just chatting. I remember this one time we were teaching noobs how to efficiently run sanctums and we even brought out a nyx to rat with us for the lulz. Since there were 8 of us running of course I wasn't making as much money as I would be solo but the experience was more than enough to make up for it.

In short, don't listen to the trolls.
