One day, Captain Fraze was flying through low sec, the new toons always loved his visits as he provided them with the opportunity to be safe from pirates. The sector was a small one, and it was far too quiet for Fraze's liking. Pulling up his Directional Scanner he noticed two Rifters and a Hurricane in a belt about the same distance as a Venture. The chase was on! Jumping to local, Fraze watched for the tell tale signs of a hostage situation. "Pirates man!" Was the typical distress signal. Warping into the belts Fraze locked them as fast as he could. But he realized it was a trap. He took to his heels, and booked it back to 25 km. He wasn't fast enough, he was scrambled. Changing tactics he fired with 4 250mm cannons and engaged his armor hardener. The pirates launched drones. Engaging the drones Fraze cleared out the danger, and began to engage the pirates. As he fired he kept an eye on local.

Finishing off the first of the 3 pirates he turned his attention to the second Rifter. This one was a tanker. He fired on it with his quad emp guns, taking the shields down in a matter of seconds. The armor was better then the shields and he fired 3 more salvos before it went down. The last one was the 'Cane. The Hurricane was well equipped, with 6 650mm Cannons and a Cruise launcher. Fraze's shields continued to fall. Opening up on the lumbering Battlecruiser his heart began to beat faster. Little did he know that this was more then a rookie pirate.

The battle raged on, it was looking like Fraze might be defeated. His pride was fired up. He began to remember all the noobs he had helped in high sec, and all the elites he wrecked in null. He remembered all the battles that looked grim, but turned into nightmares for the reds. Loved by his blues, and feared by the reds he understood that this battle could turn the tide of low sec for the worse. He watched in dismay as he was pounded repeatedly by the pirate. He knew his ship, and he knew it could not hold out for long. He felt the ship shake and sway under his feet as he wrestled with the controls. His life flashed before his eyes. He got an idea.

Overheating your modules was a key factor in pvp, but it was something that is a double edge sword. Yes it makes your weapons more effective, but it also can do long term damage to them. It had to be done. Flipping the levers and activating the power cores he fired them up. He watched the pressure gauges spin clockwise. His DPS was now 250 and his shields were doubled. Now he had the tools, but could he do it?

Kicking in his afterburner he burned strait towards the target, he knew he only had one shot at it. There was a lot riding on each salvo. He felt this rocking from each explosion and proton burst. His guns were taking 5hp damage per second with the overheating. He had 10 seconds left before they would burn up. 10... The enemy was in his sights, and turning to warp out. 9... It's shields were 10% 8... Picking through its armor, he was beginning to gain some confidence 7... There was 30% armor left on the Cane 6... Into the hull 5... The target was moving fast, about to warp out. 4... The ship was half done 3... Just a little more! 2... The ship was almost up to speed. 1... As the guns unlocked due to warp interference the target exploded, and his cannons burned up.

The battle was tough, but he managed it. He destroyed the pirates, burned his guns, protected the innocent, and made it back to the station successful. This would go down as one of the greatest, and most unheard of battle in history. There will be no coverage on eve-kill.net or on the podcasts. There will never be someone talking about this in local or promoting this in fleet. But we will never forget the day that Fraze soloed 3 pirates, and kept low-sec safe for the noobs that worked there.

I appreciate the effort you've gone through to depict my achievements with detail and flair. I will look back on this day with pride and dignity for many years to come. However, the quality of your writing is sufficiently poor and uninspired that I am electing not to return your forty-two million ISK, Retriever, Osprey, or assorted modules. Rest assured, your assets will be put towards eminently noble causes.
