As I already said. This was just an idea for CCP as another add on to their player driven universe. Yes I know there is tons of other racing games, I play them.

Problem is, CCP isn't that big. They already have EVE, Dust, EVE Valkyrie and WOD to work on too, so why make a racing game on top of these? Especially given that there is bugger all reason for it, lore wise. Why would we race lil cars when we can race spaceships? Or even those hilarious DUST jeep things?

Basically you want Carmageddon tied to EVE Online? I... guess?

Wow this post is growing, as I said before. I am not asking CCP to make this today, tomorrow, or next year, or the year after that. What I am saying that EVE is growing and one day mite have more then space ships in EVE. This was just an idea me and some friends came up with. It started off as a joke. Then after an hour of talking it formed into this crazy idea. I thought it would be a neat idea to post. But keep on replying.

Idea is dumb. Maybe within the bowels of Minmatar society.

There are already bigger lore-based arena sports out there.

Racing in EVE has been tried enough times already. Some Snake-Implanted junkie with a buddy offering links is always going to win. It gets old.

Traditional arenas are far better. Pick three belts or locations within a system. Drop cans off at their center points. Stray beyond 150km of the cans and you're out of bounds. Last one alive wins.

Funny, now I know how the first car builders feel. Why build cars when we have horses! It could be a fun EVE base racing game.
Its just a idea, but keep reply's coming.

Give it some thought people. Racing on a track in space. Your in your own car. All you see is a blur of what is the track as you are going 300 MPH. You see a driver in front of you. You fire your guns. You miss and he drops a mine. You dodge the mine and firer again. This time you hit. He explodes and flips off the track and into a concord ship that is guarding the race and the car explodes. And the ship now has a small hole in the side. Now your ahead of the race and now there is a car behind you. He fire missiles and you get hit and crash into the wall and flip off the track and all you see is the dark void of space. And you blow up and wake up in your clone in the pits.

You do realize that most ships can hit 100m/s, which is roughly equivalent to 223MPH? Anything that moves faster than 341m/s is moving faster than the current land speed record of 763MPH.

I have seen Interceptors that reach 2,000m/s - roughly equivalent to FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SEVEN MILES PER HOUR. Ships in EVE already move insanely fast on a regular basis.

This is going to sound so crazy it mite just work. A EVE online race car game like NASCAR or Need for Speed. But in space, on planets surface and on stations. And the cars are armed to the teeth. A race game with many dangers like a player driving on track in space can be blown off the track and killed by another player. Player created corps can build the cars and sponsor the driver. Or even EVE and DUST players can drive the cars themselves. And both EVE and DUST players can watch the race off the little TVs in their rooms on the station, and place bets on what driver will win. Maybe even try to rig the race. Also the corps logo can be place on the side of the car and the other players can click on the car and can read the corps advert. Any ideas?

So the devs can spend all of their time working on another game that is not eve. No.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

Can you still break 10km/s in a properly fit dram with boosters, quafe and snakes? OP, would that be fast enough for you? It's over 22,000 miles per hour.

Not sure about Dram, but my FI Stabber goes 6.2km/s cap stable without any booster / implants / overheat... With overheat it's something around 9.4km/s or what if I remember correctly (not using it all that much)....

Man this is funny. Have you guys read my other reply's? Yes I know about MPS. But the size of a large abject such as the starships feels slower than the size of a small car. Have you people ever race cars before? And I said more then once over and over again. I am not asking CCP to take time to make this. It was nothing more then a joke that turn into a neat idea. If the only thing that you have to say about this post is that starships is faster then cars, then this was not such a bad idea after all. Think out side that box people.

Hows about a gardening sim, based in the Eve Universe? I've always wanted a little house in Teonusude, with flower arrangements in the shape of my corp logo.

Maybe there can be many dangers like rakes laying in the tall grass, waiting to be trod upon.
