Hello Capsuleers Big smile

Dual Character training came along, and it was good! CCP Xhagen is now here to talk to you more about how it's going to become even better very soon with the introduction of multiple character training.

Check out his new Dev Blog for the latest information on what's up and coming with the character training system!

Big smile

I have always liked the idea of training more than one toon per account, but the clincher for me is that you can only be on one toon per account so I would rather just have second account ..... oh wait i do

"And come to think of it, I use another PLEX to extend the option to 60 days"
Is this a new thing being changed from the current: only add time in the last 7 days option? Can we get more info about that?

Well, that was inevitable, wasn't it? P

On a serious note, now that people will have yet another time-limited skill queue (per account) to keep track of, are you going to implement some clearer way to display exactly how much time is left on each multiple training payment? Yes, players could set calendar events and alerts, but it seems a bit silly that it isn't simply displayed on the account management page.

After all, the system already knows when the end-date is — it couldn't refuse renewals before the last 7 days if it didn't. So why not expose that data to the account holder?

Awesome! I've found the dual character training to be very useful.

Is trifold character training available as of today? I couldn't see a date on the dev blog and I'm at work at the moment, so can't check it out myself Sad

Was just coming to ask this myself. I have a second character training and would love to see a timer on the login screen or something like that. You don't see when it runs out unless you click on the character on the login screen.

i heard they are working on making a eve gate app with enhanced api capabilities that could have skill queue functions built in.

Also have any of the CCP economist/s examined the effect of Multi training on PLEX prices? Since they seem to be staying rather high atm?

Pretty nice quality-of-life change. I guess now we'll have *three* mains per account instead of *two*. :P

I'm sorry but i just don't see the point in this, if it was cheaper somehow to run the accounts of your alts on one account, say like 45 days for a plex or longer then i would see a point to this, otherwise why not just have 3 separate accounts that you can then play at the same time or not as you choose, after all it actually costs the same other that that initial fee.

I wish this feature was easier to use or rather be implemented in a way to easier understand.

In my proposal, an active subcription would add 30 days of training time to an always active timer A. Which is used by a character with a flag set by the player.
Then adding skilltime by means of MCT would add to a pool B of skilltime used by the remaining character without the flag, thus just sharing the remaining days which only countdown when actually used (twice as fast if both remaining characters use it of course). Dual character training already costs the same as a subscription without benefits of logging in that characters simultaniously, so it should only be active when actually used.

Of course even simpler would be to split the subscription from trainingtime and the ability to log in a character simultaniously to others and have a single account with endless characters. Like so:

Account: free
Per activated Characterslot (used on the slot to determine which is activated: 5 bucks
Trainingtime 30 days used upon/per characterslot: 5 bucks
Ability to login an additional character simultaniously: 5 bucks

This would of course shift around the benefits per given payment for multiple characters a bit, but my predictions would see the benefit on CCP's side.

Because it cost far more to keep those characters active and available once you're finished with them

Say that you want to make a couple of research alts. All they're ever going to do is sit in a station and clog up the research slot queues. It takes about two months to get them to that state. Having them all logged in at the same time serves no purpose.

With triple training, that sets you back 4 PLEXes — 2 months for 2 characters. After that, they are completely free.
With separate accounts, it sets you back 400 PLEX — 2 to start the two accounts, another 2 to complete their second month of training, and 296 to keep those two accounts active for the next 12 years…

You could conceivably reduce that cost by folding those characters back into the main account, but that still means you pay twice as much as if you used triple training (still 2×2 to keep the two accounts active for two months, and then another 2×2 to transfer the characters for a total of 8).

Another nice thing you could add would be the ability to stop training.

That is, right now when you try to activate a skill queue and one of the other chars are training, you get the "Buy plex for dual training" dialog. It would be nice if one of the choices were "Pause training on other char". That way you wouldn't have to log out, log into alt, log out, log back in the other alt, start training.

Ok so..

Account 1 with 3 characters.

I plex the account (1 plex) for my main.
I add 1 plex to activate dual character training (1 plex)
I add 1 MORE plex to activate Multiple character training (1 plex)?

So to run multiple character training on an account, plus plexing that account, would account to 3 plexes?

Not arguing, just want clarification.

To run the max amount of queues, you have to use two plexes (a plex per char), once a month.

Yaay!!!!
