Guess you don't remember Soundwave & Co. declaring war on Gun Mining. The loot tables affecting the amount of wrecks containing loot and the type of loot contained in those wrecks is constantly being manipulated and nerfed, almost to the point of being non-existent. I'm not talking about Commander / Overseer drops. That has always been RNG.

Anyway, it's not bad perception, it's actual perception.

In fact reducing supply of meta4s preserves the income (and fun) of salvagers and looters.

Total oversupply can reduce the value of a meta4 item to mnineral values only, where as significant undersupply can keep the meta 4 value to be a whole missions worth of isk in 1 module.

One of the amusing sides of looting commanders is that I looted a meta 4 ballistic, and a meta 4 shield amp, which have tool tip values respectively of 7mil, and 25mil.

I do hope it will be like that again, altho with CCPs intention to make 'exploration' appeal to the broader masses ... we are already seeing effects on prices. I guess if you look at it from a purely isk/hr perspective (yes i said it, even tho it can hardly be applied to such randomness), the exploration content has sort of been brought in line with other activities.

I think i would not have anything against easier and more accessible scanning if it a) wasn't shoved into everyones face (thats the sigs that everyone can see) and b) didn't promote what i think is non-interactive-gameplay in a supposedly MMOG (that's the stabbed frigs you see doing prof sites everywhere).

I've never understood why we don't get more loot in general and less of the "spikes".

For one thing, if we all got more general salvage and loot, we would be able to use it ourselves on OUR ships, or turn to mats, and then churn out our own stuff, second, if the only reason those DED's exist is to just act as an end-mission lottery ticket of "will the end boss drop that bpc?" then the only people running those efficiently will be high SP toons in min-max ships, and they have a tendency to be much richer on average anyway.

If I use a T1 frig to clear out a couple of L1's, I'd expect enough ISK to make another T1 as backup, or to go PVP.
If I clear out a 10/10 DED I'd want a high end dice roll chance of a good ship BPC or similar, as I possibly just risked a blingy ship and went through the wringer to do so.

If you don't agree that the risk-vs-reward at the moment justifies this argument, then it's the missions difficulty that should be buffed, not the rewards getting nerfed.

I would have no problem losing hull after hull in missions because they got much more violent, as long as I can balance that out with good mission running skills. You deserve to lose hulls in PvE content when you're not 100% on the ball, but at the same time we should get better rewards.

Right now missions are a sleepfest and totally predictable, I'm not surprised so many people think mission runners are getting it too easy.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

I could chime in and say somebody is finding the tag carriers because I just bought a bunch, but I wouldn't want to have bad timing either.
