Rubicon new character selection screen :S

Will it remain a completely red interface for the Rubicon expansion, or can the interface colors be adjusted like the rest of the UI? I think it's fine to have Rubicon's theme be red and all, but I think there is far too much red in it.

I'm really really hoping we can change the UI colors on the character select screen using the same UI controls.

Why is this even an issue? Deliver it and move on to something of value.

CCP has been wanting to improve the functionality and style of the CS screen for a while now, is why it's an issue. This was only exacerbated by the removal of the old login screen which traditionally had most of the artistic flair embedded into it, instead of the CS screen.

It's a character selection screen.

Save the artistic flair for the actual game.

I'd be quite happy selecting my character from the launcher and bypassing this new selection screen entirely.

It is a working launcher. Only it's not you that it's working for, it works for CCP. I too would like to load multiple clients/toons and combinations thereof with a minimum of clicks. But I think rabid multiboxers are the exception not the norm.

Maybe this is what OP wants?

Talk about a waste of developer time...We REALLY dont need a new character screen...just saying.

If you want to add graphical updates, how about

Polar caps on planets
Aurora's on planets
Ship decals

Better yet, how about giving us something we've been asking for...like the Hi def texture pack?

We appreciate the work on the new character selection screen, I just dont think anyone in the EVE community even thinks about the character selection screen, at all.

I could be wrong.

I want a character selection screen as a tool to get a quick glance at all the important stuff for my characters. The new screen is an improvement at that.
Though it would have been even better, if there was a list on the left, with the same info the new one has now (or rather including the stuff that is to be added in the new build). Clicking on one of the infoboxes would then reveal either a picture or a fully animated character within a square portion of the screen. So 9x9 for the portrait or the animation and 7x3 for each infobox of the character stacked ontop each other. This would also add the benefit to see ones own characterportrait in full glory in the game at least once.
