I will admit captains quarters is cool but it ain't like you can invite friends to visit or customize it

I understand everyone has different tastes and understanding of what makes a game fun but I really don't get this walking in stations thing. Eve already takes so much time why would I want to spend it looking at CG women who are actually greasy men?

I can see this going somewhere, I'd be nice to host alliance and corporate meetings in your quarters. Also the idea of adding a personal touch would probably be a bit odd as your things would technically have copies everywhere you dock, I'd forget which station had the original limited edition poster I'd put up (From a realistic point of view every station would have a different quarters layout if you customized all of them.)

I suggest you read the developer posts in this thread. For the time being, avatar gameplay has been shelved, but the game is making some significant technological strides which will, perhaps, make avatar-based gameplay a reality sooner rather than later. CCP Atlanta is developing World of Darkness, which uses a more developed version of Carbon's avatar technology, which has displaced their version of the engine from EVE's avatar engine. It would not surprise me in the slightest if the advancements in WoD's avatar engine were ported over to EVE in due time.

Patience. (Although, considering how long some players have been waiting for avatar-based gameplay, that may be asking for a lot. But if you're playing EVE for the avatars... maybe you should look elsewhere for the time being since the game has always been heavily focused on spaceship gameplay.)

I would also like more WiS stuff. I always wish that maybe they would release something new to the NEX store with each new expansion.

I think a great many people want Walking in Stations content. But I think CCP have put too much resources into other projects for it to become a reality any time soon.

Ambulation is a secondary tree of features for EVE Online. The primary feature is space ships and conquest. Content creation for "Walking in Stations" is a huge undertaking. In order for this secondary feature to look and feel dynamic and unscripted its going to take a lot of resources for a long period of time to make it right.

If they really want to appeal to the "Second Life In Space" crowd they are going to have to do it right otherwise it will just be useless and not generate them revenue. Granted I believe that CCP has the manpower and innovation to make this a smash hit with a different crowd of people, however, it does not appeal to the mass of the current user base which is all about blowing each other up in cool and interesting new ways.

So, untill the current user base has a swath of content thrown at them to keep them busy for at least a year I wouldn't expect Ambulation to go any further than it has for the foreseeable near future.

Whatever CCP does with WIS, there'll always be a better game for that aspect of it. Casino, shotting, assasination, socializing - all of that is covered in a multitude of other games. No reason to clutter up EvE, the space game, with all of that crud.

I lived with The Door from Incarna until we finally got ship spinning back. After the "Load Station environment" got decoupled from CQ, I unchecked that and now have a static image of my ship - perfectly serviceable, I can spin it in the fitting window if I really want to spin.
