But usually they don't scam newbies, and OP is only several weeks old.

So this was either a mistake or this offer is legit...

But wouldn't they rather need renters now than new members for their core corporations?

I'm not particularly interested in joining Goonwaffe, but I have about 7B isk that I'd like to invest. Do they pay dividends?

What are the odds that a niche website that talks about bacon recipes and makes fun of stupid people would go on to not only get people to actually join an unrelated niche internet spaceship game but to have more success in recruiting people outside of the game than any other in-game corporation including reddit's corp?

I am sick of your lies that corrupt people into perpetuating such slanderous allegations as this. I do not deny that there is a small clique within Goonswarm that are members of that awful something website. But you are just spreading conspiracy theories and are adding nothing to this discussion.

Some of you guys aren't the brightest :/ Of course I read up on them via other websites which is why I'm asking here. Why the hell wouldn't I do some research before asking a question? Herp derp.

beancounter Jaynara's comment led me to believe this guy was either a moron or another scammer they're going to kick. Not 100% sure, though, because it was worded quite oddly.

If I ever saw CCP Falcon's character in real life I think I'd politely ask him to kick my ass just so I could brag about it.

I can put you in touch with some guys that would know the answer to that. Or you can just contact them yourself. I personally know and trust the following. They can direct you to the answers that you seek.
