How about a fixed order on the screen that the player is able to change to his or her desire, staying the same until again changed?

Sorry if it has been brought up before. But have you considered this problem with the new char selection when skills with long names are being trained?

Can you please leave the promotions to the launcher?! That is part of why you have one, yes?! No promotions in the selection screen. This is where all the important information should be only! You already have enough places to have your plex ads...

I guess it's not your teams descision maybe, but can you please discuss it with the appropriate people?

Hi all

If you now log onto Sisi, you might notice quite a bit of changes.
The "Enter EVE button is gone, and also is the notion of "selected character". Now you just mouse over your character, it lights up and you click it to enter the game.

The 2nd/3rd character in training, as well as the PLEX/ETC counters should now be displayed as a logo and text telling you how long there is left.
Clicking on those elements will open up the account management page.

We have shifted the screen when you have camera offset + ui offset (for dual displays).

The current background is a placeholder, and I'm looking forward to getting the real one :)

We are in polishing mode now, and will be tweaking colors, fixing overlapping issue as well as other issues, moving lines one pixel here and there.

One of the main goals of this screen was that it had to load fast, and as cool as it would have been to have 3D characters in it, that would never have met that goal without some serious work being put into optimizing the character loading, which at this point we were not ready to do.

How do I apply for an internship in your team? I am still in first semester of my Games Engineering study program at TU Munich, but EVE inspired me to do it and you inspired me to focus on UI and player interaction, so applying can't be done too early, I guess. Big smile

Though, I still would have liked a different concept better, but this is what you worked with and listening to us is quite a feat of you guys!

I don't mind the new screen too much, but I am missing quite a bit of things that we do have with the TQ screen which I really like and don't understand why it is gone. Sure we can see them in-game as well, but I liked being able to see it while logging in.

News(Which we can't actually open ingame in an easy way as far as I am aware)
How long we got left in total on the training queue(Seeing only the most soonly completed skill is useless, if you got a lot of lvl 1/2/3 skills in there)
I can't see the name/type of the ship I am flying
No corp name/alliance name.
No sec status.
Can't see my characters faction.

Not all of them are important, but why remove functionality while we get none in exchange?

Edit: If that means no more splash screens, so be it. But the 1 second I spend on log in screen I won't see it anyway.
And unless there comes a button to hide the characters and view the splashscreen, I don't see the point of it since it is completely hidden behind the characters.

And the issue of:
It says "Less than one day" in the top left when I never activated it. It should just say "Inactive" in that case.

I agree that the skillqueue still needs changing.

The corp and alliance name shows on mouse-over (arguably with too much delay).

I find the faction to be a useless info in the scope of what the login screen does... and how irrelevant it is for game-(non-role-) play in EVE, then again if you roleplay, you know your stuff by heart.
Sec status is only in the category of nice to know. But since it is no pertinent information on deciding which character to login with, I would actually argue that it should not be there (also it does not change while you are offline).
News fall into the same category and should be reserved for the launcher. I actually like news to be out-of-client content, while world news should be presented entirely different out of the scope of CCP karkur's team for now.

Can you please release a screenshot with every single item of the login screen shown, some are case sensitive so I cannot see all of them. Would be nice to get a good overview of how stuff is implemented. Smile

1. Glad you agree.
2. Things that appear on mouse over are bad(Look at Isis and ship showing, I didn't even know it was there if it wasn't for watching EVE vegas)
3. although you are true about faction/sec status, why remove them? sec status might be a nice reminder of how far you have reached so far without having to open character sheet
4. news on the launcher I disagree with. The launcher has a too small area to display all the news and regularly misses 50%+ of the news reported ingame currently. So if that will be our news source without stalking billboards ingame it better get upgraded real good.

There is a problem with corp logo if it has transparent "colour" in it. While greyed out it isn't showing. I'll try to explain it a little better Smile

First layer (top layer) is a transparent symbol.
Second layer is a white disc.

While greyed out, the first layer symbol disappears.

I can't make a screenshot, because it takes one of my desktop and not from the game ShockedShocked

I like the current selection screen, but what i for sure dislike is the advertisment on the lower bottom. We can already see your ads in the launcher, which is fine on that point, but beyond that i don't want to see them! :(

Something to note.

I'm sitting on my Paladin, and the ship hull shows as if it was the older model (pre-Rubicon, current TQ one).

I assume the "schematics" of the hull are different since the hulls are different. Right?

No it's not my corp. The cross in my logo is blue. I changed it to transparent on SiSi but it takes time to refresh in the Character Selection.

We just created a new effect for those pictures in the character selection screen, so maybe it need to be tweaked a little bit (the new effect is new on Sisi as of last update).

Yes it's in the current build. I checked it just this minute and it's still there. And yes, my new Logo on Sisi has a transparent cross in the top layer atm. Hope this helps.

I like the new screen, and the information it gives, the one click selection, definitely a big improvement from what we have on TQ now.

Not a fan of the 'current ship' image displayed though. I'd be a fan of it if you made it an actual hologram that spun around (or at least added a lot more detail), but it doesn't have that wow factor and looks dated.

I have to say for the past few months I have been using sound (no music as it sucks I.E bring back the old songs) and I have been liking it.
