Uses advanced Brute Force tactics to attempt to gain access to a POS's forcefield.

Requires New Skills:

Starbase Hacking (3x) - 20% Bonus to Starbase Hacking Modules Range per level
Requires: Electronics V

Advanced Starbase Hacking (x6) - 50% bonus to access attempt per level. So, 150% of module at level 1, 350% of module at level 5...
Requires: Starbase Hacking V

New POS module: Starbase Defense Mainframe
Temporarily Obfuscates password hash while under hacking attempt. (resets encryption key so guesses are less effective -- module cannot ignore previous results) Each attempt becomes (guesses / entropy) rather than (guesses / entropy - total guesses so far)

Function:

May be limited to certain ship types. Maybe T3s, Recons, or perhaps the same requirements as blops.

Must be used uncloaked.

Ship cannot warp while module active.

Sends Corp or Alliance wide mail that your starbase is being hacked, system, planet & moon, aggressor, etc.

Sends Corp or Alliance wide mail that your starbase HAS been hacked.

Does not grant access to corp hangars, SMAs, fitting service, or fuel/management.

DOES grant access to enter starbase shield, bump out, or board ships inside.

Hacker must tank POS guns for the duration of the hacking attempt.

Does not cause CONCORD intervention in high sec.

DOES give suspect timer unless pilot is at war with tower owner.

Only one hacking module may be activated on a POS at any time.

Previous cycle results stay as long as the POS remains targeted

POS have base entropy of 2 billion for small, 4 billion for medium, 8 billion for large. Faction towers receive a 50% bonus to this.

Modules:

Starbase Intrusion Interface I (Starbase Hacking I)
Mid Slot
55 CPU, 1 PG
1 Second Cycle Time
7Gj Capacitor Activation
15km range
100,000 Guesses per cycle (takes over 5 hours worst-case on a small tower.)

Starbase Intrusion Interface II (Starbase Hacking V)
Mid Slot
60 CPU, 1 PG
1 Second Cycle Time
7.5Gj Capacitor Activation
20km range
125,000 Guesses per cycle (takes over 4 hours worst-case on a small tower.)

Maxed out, a t2 hacker can enter a small, t1 small tower in a little over an hour (worst case)

It would take that same hacker about 7.5 hours to enter a large, faction tower. (worst case)

The implications:

People would be less inclinded to leave expensive ships out in POS's.

People would be less inclined to leave POSs undefended.

Even logged-in people could become vulnerable to being bumped out if someone hacks a pos during

Neuts and ECM would go a long way to preventing a hacking attempt.
