Idea to Resolve the Black Ops & Marauder BS issue.

So my idea is to remove the black ops skill altogether & refund the sp, move the jump drive & bridge capability to the cov ops transport ships and have a second Marauder. Whilst this may initially controversial, I will attempt to explain my reasoning below.

Black Ops BS, by not having the ability to use a covert ops cloak, will always remain pre-nerfed, and will therefore always seem incongruent to the rest of the black ops line of ships that can (eg SB's, Recons & Cov Ops Transport Ships). While they are definitely fun ships to fly and use as they are, they will always seem 'wrong' by default. And so the argument will continue ad nauseum, for ever more.

Also, all of the T2 ship skills that I can think of enable two hulls, not one, unlike the T2 Battleship skills. Therefore how can it be acceptable that the (higher ranked) Marauder skill only unlocks one? To save on design & development time the old (now unused) Black Ops BS hulls could be used!

By expanding the Marauder range to two hulls per race (one tanky, the other ganky) CCP can give themselves more flexibility with hull bonuses for PVP and PVE and calm the tension over their current suggestions. Both should be Bastion Capable. All players that can use a Marauder gets another ship, and if not they can use their refunded sp to quickly do so.

The Cov Ops Transport Ship, inaddition to its new jump abilities, should have either insane tanking or capacity, or an ability for a mixture of decent at both. It should be able to comfortably transport a medium sized fleet for an evening and move itself about to support the fleet. Maybe it should be immune to all but the infini-point? Certainly some sort of counter to being caught short as it will have no or little inherent counter attack ability. Not sure about the counter - discuss.

This change will make sense in that cov ops ships are limited to cruiser and below ships (small) or capital ships (massive). The only cruiser sized hull that was big enough to fit a jump drive would be a hauler (unsurprisingly) - IIRC the cov ops haulers require racial cruiser to use as well.

I don't believe the argument about whether or not Black ops BS should have a covert ops cloak will be ever solved to everyones satisfaction, and I now in retrospect wish they had never been introduced as a 'Black Ops' ship (the only one that is specifically called Black Ops in its ship skill name Shocked ). And that is as someone who wants them to have a cov ops cloak & and has also really enjoyed using them in the current iteration for PVP. I just think this solution would address all angles equally - and because of the refunded sp players can transfer that into Marauders or Transport ship skill (or w/e else). So it's win-win.

I wondered what the general consensus of thought might be on the idea.
