Scoring results are coming in, we're still getting close. But we'll definitely have to do a quick round to resolve some ties. While you're waiting, why not start another story? Some ideas:
-Nanite repair paste infected by rogue drone AI.
-Capsuleer with a sinus infection and stomach flu, in his capsule in pod goo. What happens next?
-What would happen if you ever did manage to put a Giant Secure Container inside another Giant Secure Container?
-Holiday season in Sansha's Nation.
-Fiction contest judges abducted by Cthulhu. Smile

Challenge accepted.

(Need to clean it up a bit, but just finished it.)

Nice one! I wasn't expecting something that developed in such a short space of time.

I had a lot of fun with it, so it came out quickly. I had to find out how a capsuleer could get a sinus infection and stomach flu in the first place. Once I figured that out, the story kind of wrote itself. Space Fonzie was just an added bonus.

It was good practice as I want to write more.

Someone needs to pick up the rest now. I want to read about Sansha Claws. Really.

Be careful in Pulsar systems, you might get Pod Flu.

So-- asking on behalf of all of us. How goes first-run grading? And is there any estimate of how much tie-breaking will be needed, or how long it will take?

The wait is agonizing! I want to see who took first. Big smile

Sorry for the delay, all. We're waiting for one last set of scores. If they don't come in in the next few days, we may have to proceed without them. The tie-breaking round should be quick. In that round everyone has already read every story, so all they have to do is rank a few tied stories, in relation to each other. It should be quick.

If I might be so bold (haha see what I did there P) as much as I am looking forward (okay so I look at this thread more than once a day haha) to the scores from the judges and finding out who came where, I have no qualms in waiting for the last set of scores to come in.

I would rather wait another week or two (Christmas and work can be extremely busy for some people and they're judging in their free time) so that all scores are in.

At the end of the day its upto you Sam, but I'm just voicing it out there that I (and I'm sure others (all in favour say "aye!")) don't mind waiting a bit longer. Big smile

EDIT: Cheers for the update on the progress.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

You could have made that better by calling your character either Vladimir or Estragon. Alas, you ruined it...Cry

As its Christmas and they are marking in their free time, I think it's safe to cut them some slack. I know I've been super busy this holiday Roll

EDIT: I was going to put "Patience young one. All in good time." But as I started typing it I forgot what I was putting (until after I had already posted) Big smile
