Cooler laser sounds would be very much welcome. However, turret art in general needs some looking at: http://jestertrek.blogspot.be/2012/03/internal-communication.html

This stuff is ofcourse quite far down the list.

all the guns sounds terribly weak. only missile weapons sounds as what you expect imo.

If we made our own sound bytes that'd be ace. Then i could my lasers going pew pew pew, my auto's going dadadadadadadadada, my Artie's going Boom Mother F**cker, and rails going ding as they bounce harmlessly off my targets hull.
The only one I might consider a proper sound for is the blasters, but even then they'd sound like the original x-wing laser sound.

Although I think BSG had the right idea with the sounds, if you have to put sound in space to entertain the drooling masses then little to none given you know, space, no air, no air pressure, no air to vibrate to make noise. So the only thing we should be hearing is whatever causes the projectile / beam to leave the ship. High load electricity type sounds such as coils under load, a bang and a breach block for slow firing guns, the tinkle of brass hitting the floor for rapid firing etc etc.

Still, that's assuming you have the sound on

Talking about lasers, I'm a bit nostalgic to the way sleeper's shots used to sound : "SwwwhooouuuuoOOOUUUUooouuu..." something like that. (Eh, see my skills in writing sounds with a keyboard ? :D)
It stayed this way between 2009 and 2012 I believe.

I don't know what everyone is getting so butthurt about weapon sounds for. I think all the new weapon sounds are pretty cool, and would totally listen to them if I did not constantly end up turning off the game sound anyway to avoid listening to station ambiance.

It looks like the better lazor sounds were removed before you were born.

You may notice I've been playing for about 6 years now. Laser sounds didn't change until LAST YEAR.

I think large beams lasers need to sound more "electrical" and less like a large gun shot.
