Complaint re: Scorpion Ishukone Watch (the ship itself, not the people who received it)

OK, where's my soapbox?

Ahem.

One thing has been sadly neglected in the recent disagreements regarding the gifting of Ishukone Watch Scorpions to certain parties. Namely: the ship that was given out is a lemon.

Specifically, it wasn't changed to match the standard Tech I Scorpion when battleships were rebalanced. As a result, it only has four low slots to the T1's five, a significantly less robust structure, thinner armor, weaker shields, smaller capacitor, and inferior scan resolution. In fact, the only way it's an improvement is in a slightly faster capacitor recharge time.

What this leaves its owners with is a ship that's flat-out inferior to the ordinary ship on which it's based, one that only a fool would fly even if there was no price differential between the two. This is contrary to the idea behind nearly all other special edition ships, which are meant to be flown proudly, and risked gloriously (witness the recent death of a Chremoas in Black Rise, less than a week after the first examples were built), or at the very least are a match for the ships on which they are based. Doesn't a Sarum Magnate perform just as well as the standard model? Doesn't a Sukuuvestaa Heron?

In this respect, the Scorpion Ishukone Watch is nothing but a "hangar queen" - a ship destined to molder instead of fly, an embarassment to the Ishukone Watch, and an insult to anyone who flies a true Scorpion, that such an inferior ship should be given out as an honor, a token of appreciation, to be owned with pride.

Therefore, it is only reasonable to call upon the Powers that Be to take every Ishukone Watch Scorpion and improve it - to make it a true Scorpion, one which can be flown without derision, one that will be every bit as good as the ship on which it is based. Let those who agree make their voices heard, speak for the ships that cannot speak for themselves, and ensure this travesty is made right!

Thank you.

And now, back to the usual shenanigans.
