Not everyone likes spreadsheets online. Even if it is the FPS version.

Funny story, my ex is called eve, we were together for 8 years and I was playing Eve at the time, so was much jest involved.

Now I am not with her and with a new lass, I can only imagine how much she hates me saying "I am playing Eve" sore memories lol.

Only reason my ex hated me playing EVE was because I started replacing certain words with the terms drone bay, cargo bay and *my sentry drone*.
I also may have yelled out *Oh Dominix* instead of *Oh Suzie* at one point while dragging my sentry drone from the drone bay to the cargo bay....

I had to promise my wife I'd stop playing EVE before she would agree to marry me. Then I spent the better part of a year trying to get "permission" to play again. You would not believe the concessions I had to make! I think it was all her secret plot to never have to do the dishes again. Clever woman.

Serious answer incoming! Brace yourselves!

Your very first step should be to ask her why she thinks it is an issue.

She may be concerned about your well being. If you spend too much time playing games and your life is suffering in other areas (like work or family), you may want to seek help in dealing with a very real and critical addiction. If you're doing fine with the rest of your life, she may just not understand why you spend so much time in front of the computer. Some people don't understand that playing video games is just as fulfilling as other hobbies, like reading books, playing basketball, or going camping. You can try to explain it to her, or even get her involved. She may be surprised and enjoy the game.

It also could very well be that your girlfriend feels, perhaps irrationally, threatened by your dedication to something that isn't her. If that's the case, you'll want to take steps to reassure her that while EVE is your hobby, she is your partner. If you are actually skipping out on spending time with her because you have to go grind a station timer, then she may have a legitimate complaint.

Whether or not she is more important than EVE Online is up to you. For some relationships, picking EVE is a good choice, but in those cases it's usually prudent to rethink if you want or need to be in that relationship at all. If you value your relationship more than EVE, you may want to consider talking things out with your girlfriend and arranging a mutually acceptable amount of time that you can spend playing video games (or maybe just EVE if it's specific to this game).

Either way, make the choice that is best for you. In the end, this is your life - not hers. Unless you have other obligations you're not meeting because of EVE, you're not hurting anybody.

Good luck!

Yep. A lot of people log on and minimize the game while they do other things. At some point they show up and go "oh sh*t I forgot I had EVE running"
