i've never used blink, but this wouldn't make me stop using them.

the issue is with ccp, not blink.

Yay, this account hasn't had its signature banned. or its account, if you're reading this.

Yeah, this needed another thread.

Especially one endorsing account hacking local spamming bots, a poker site whose banker was ganked by the devs for streaming himself using a bot, and a jita local scammer.

What?

I fired that banker on the spot, and was pretty mad with CCP Stillman about not being on the killmail! Big smile

OP: I don't think that boycotting blink will have any positive outcome. It'd be better to voice concerns in the other thread.

I'm on the first page of that other thread. Big smile

I don't expect everyone to agree. But I know that many do. A simple showing of support in a semi-organized fashion is easier to quantity than random-ish comments in that other one. Honestly, I'd totally be fine with a competing thread showing support for Somer. What's important is that players can express their concerns and do so in a civil manner.

And Kate, I respectfully disagree. While many may feel it is not Somer's fault for being given free ships of great value from CCP, the apparent secrecy and mutual willingness to maintain the secrecy is cause for concern. We do not yet know to what extent who knew what at CCP, what was discussed, etc. We might never. As far as I know, some random guy at CCP that no one knows may have come up with this idea and CCP Navigator was simply the guy handed this task. But we do know that the leader of Somer was involved and all of the corp was complicit. This is a big distinction.

Had Some instead rejected the gifts, and done so publicly, you would see me praising Somer instead. But that didn't happen.

That is why I support a boycott of Somer Blink.

So will you be boycotting all the other corps and organizations that were given community spotlight ISWs?

I liked the community spotlight articles highlighted in the launcher. I thought they were a great thing for CCP to do. I am eagerly anticipating community spotlights of others who have made a difference in this game and created content such as me, James 315, Mittens, Psychotic Monk, etc etc. If you are referring to rewards, I was not aware of them before this weekend.

Guys, if you want to go back and forth, that's what the "other" thread is for. This is simply a thread for tabulating the support for boycotting Somer Blink.

Scammer moaning about someone who's setup an even bigger scam? If this thread was any more hypocritical my head might explode.

I'm going to go and play some SomerBlink now, just to rub it in Erotica's scamming face. Cool

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

I never understood the fascination with Somer Blink anyway. The other gambling sites appear much more fun. It's funny that so many people want to make this about me. I am merely offering a way for others who share my view of the incident to take a stand.

I have no intention of boycotting SOMERblink. The tears are too delicious.

That said, I fully support Erotica's support for a boycott. I also recommend that everyone try the isk doubling service. There's too much excess isk in the wrong hands, and OP's is an equitable way of redistributing it.

That sounds like something she might enjoy but at least buy her a drink first otherwise you might come across a bit creepy.

EOH Poker is way better, Somer sucks balls as there is either little or no skill involved in winning.
And in the long run, because of the rake, you LOSE MONEY playing Somer.

Btw Erotica, while you may be a nice person in real life, I'm not really sure you can talk.
What do the spamming ISK doublers in Jita/Amarr really contribute to the game? And some of you probably use bots to copy/paste.

He is, what do you mean? He singlehanded funded my EVE play without even having to gamble (although I have doubled my isk with his funding afterwards)

I disagree

I much prefer EVE Poker anyway.

Tried blink once.

I don't get it.

First thing, they can afford to pay out over a quadrillion isk in prizes. Must be a lot of losers. So once I've accepted that I'm going to lose it comes down to the gameplay. Mashing F5 and clicking blink! is supposed to keep me enthralled while they take my isk? No thanks, maybe kids who cant play the pokies will enjoy it. And this is who CCP choose to support? A dev at ccp actually likes this? Sheesh.

Didn't take this recent drama for me to boycott blink.
