What is happening to the ships?

Just a moment ago there were only 2 falcons available in Jita and in Rens, and the price has spiked up to 200 mil per ship.
This also seems to have happened for some other ships.

Anyone?

Most likely market manipulation.

1. Buy up all the falcons in Jita and Rens
2. Relist one or two at high prices
3. ???
4. Profit

Perhaps it is speculation that the significant buffs to EAFs will carry over towards the Recons...

The funny thing is that there are no spikes that would indicate someone buying a bunch to relist them.

seems like prices are up a bit throughout caldari space (if eve central is accurate).

Could be anything, but I still like market manipulation.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say empty-headed speculation.

Tech2 ships have rather limited supply channels (tech2 BPO holders and invention) and supply can be unreliable (e.g. lazy BPO holder forgets to move his ships to Jita or invention profits didn't look great a month ago so their are not so many ships in the invention pipeline.)

Add in clueless speculators who say "What is happening to the ships?" and you have a sudden shortage.

When some happy builder sees what has happened to prices he will put his inventory on the market and the speculators will get burned.

This is all assuming that there is no reason why one force recon ship would spike in price over all other force recon ships or other covert op ships. I don't do pvp so maybe I am wrong, but there is also no mention of any changes to force recon ships in the upcoming patch.

The only other thing would be if the falcon used an unusually large amount of dysprosium.

somer blink keeps doing 10x recon promos. Someones probably relisting them as they are doing the promos to get a pretty fast return. I used to see this happen with the mindlinks and some other items they did promos with.


edit: now I am pretty sure its actually Somer buying them so they have them to give out for the promos and don't have to deal with people relisting them.
