Hello everyone, i hope you'll take time to read, consider and discuss this idea.

The frequency scrambler.
The idea behind the frequency scrambler is that it is a system wide sov upgrade that messes up ships electronics, in effect decloaking cloaked ships, but it will also provide some negative impacts. I am not for an 'I win' button in any way.

- Decloaks all ships in the system when fired. Standard recloaking time penalties apply.
- Has a long cool down period, i think 8 hours is very reasonable.
- Uses stront or another fuel to 'fire'
-Upon use a message appears in local to notify everyone it has been used. 'The lights in your capsuleer appear to be firing randomly'
- Upon use it will ECM (100% chance) all ships in local for 5 seconds.
- Costs the same as the cyno jammer upgrade in upkeep per a month. 20 mil a day. (I would be open to increasing this)
- Cannot be used in conjunction with a cyno jammer. Ie. uses the same 'slot' as the cyno jammer.
- Only one per a system, obviously.

Ok, so this isn't a new idea on the basic but i think it's more reasonable than other suggestions in the past, i also have a reason for suggesting it now, which i'll go into in now.

With rubicon CCP will unleash a new, arguably more powerful anti- ratter/ miner weapon; the buffed interceptor. The stats indicate this can be on top of you, form 20 au away, in about 15 seconds (includes align time too). This is twice as fast as at present. Inties will also be able to fit cynos too, although it will gimp their fit.

From my perspective, as someone who lives in 0.0 to -0.2 and makes 40 mil an hour it will be hard to justify ratting in null after this expansion when i can go a couple of jumps into High sec and make more isk than that running incursions or even running level 4 missions, where the risk of losing a ship is substantially lower.

Faced with the twin threats of covert cynos and regular cynos i believe that sov holders should be able to make a choice between cyno jammers and a 'frequency scrambler' as more ratting space than ever will be under threat. We have had cloaky campers since like 2007 and probably before. Isn't it time some new technology came out to counter it and try to make null sec ratting worth it in the light of the new changes?

How about, instead, cloaked ships are just removed from local?

How about we combine some ideas on this one.

All ships decloaked.. but.. all ships removed from local for 5 minutes..

Could work, but 5 mins is way too long for a single decloak. Maybe 1 min while the 'local surveillence, we tell you who is in system, if you don't like it F**k off to WH Space' system reloads

@OP - AFk cloaking, decloaking, cloaky hunting and every other iteration of cloak discussions have already been had. If you feel the need to add to the discussion please see

As for your idea, hell no for all the reasons I've given in all the other anti cloak threads.

Another one, is there something in the water?

Please consult The List I'm certain that there is a variant if not an exact duplicate of your idea in there.

If cloaked pilots (AFK or not) cause you such heartache I suggest your living in the wrong space and need to make room for someone with a more robust constitution.

All ships decloaked, but everyone in the OP's corp immediately loses thier ship, and is treated as though they'd just lost an alpha clone. Roll

Come on CCP, this guy needs to do 40 mil/hour ratting in 0.0; do we really want to make it hard? Please CCP nerf everyone's game mechanics to match his needs and shape the whole game around him.

Every cloak thread possible has been had
and however creative and stupid
all of them have been bad
carebears will continue to cry
griefers and sensible people will continue to say why.

This thread is bad like my half assed unstructured poem or whatever that is supposed to be.

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

Please use the AFK Cloaking collection thread for this.
