What if noobs attack you/steal?

I've heard CCP is cracking down on noob-killers but from what I hear and watch and really get "complained on" about, it's noobs getting into things they shouldn't be. They steal, threaten, attack random people and end up getting themselves killed because they think they'll be protected. If I am misunderstanding this then sue me, don't actually do that xD, but this is how I understand the current situation and if you don't want noobs rage quitting...think about how many people will quit if the yellow or orange noobs are treated differently from yellow or orange normal players. Your regular players are important, there is a bigger chance they'll stay and you do NOT want noobs that will stay who aren't loyal and will leave when something doesn't go their way and push you to make EVE Online something that it isn't...

Make your choice CCP and players...

99% percent of the time its an alt pretending to be a noob.

2% of the time its an actual noob who thinks this is CoD and you just jump in and shoot all the things.

These statistics are +/- 2%.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

You blow them up.
If the GMs come a-calling, tell them to check the logs on who did what to whom first.

brand new players don't always know the rules. And most new players do not expect experienced players to grief them. Experienced player, OTOH do expect it and are less likely to fall victim. But new players do fall for it. In those cases, it's not so much about the rules as it is about coming face to face with assholes. and coming to the realization that assholes play this game. It's a rude awakening, and as with any time one is awakened rudely, one gets mad. Pirate

If they're doing things to get themselves killed I'm pretty sure if CCP was asked to look into the logs that would see and note that.

The rules are to stop people suicide ganking, can flipping, scamming or just otherwise abusing people who haven't even had a chance to learn how to fit their ship correctly yet. If players REALLY feel they have to be allowed to attack and kill players who have no understanding of the game let alone any chance to defend themselves they really are the lowest of the low.

There are plenty of miners in T2 barges with no tanks sitting in 0.5 belts you can grief if you really want tears. Let the newbies learn the game so they can either become new T2 barges in a few months or another griefer killing them.

Alts are another factor, but quite frankly I see a lot of noobs thinking they are hot ****. If it's not yours, don't touch it. If you see someone and try to get into it with them, new or vet, don't get butthurt if one or the other kills you. It's part of the game. Need to remember that everyone is a enemy until proven otherwise in this game. Everyone should be on a equal playing field.

Well IF such events occurred in high sec, they would have to 1) turn the safety off (kinda a big clue right there already!) and 2) click "Ok" on the Dangerous Act warning box (complete with a description of why it could be a dangerous act!) Sorry, fresh to the game or otherwise, if you can't even be bothered to READ, then it's hard luck, they're going to have a rough five minutes.

As for low/null sec, by default, there is a warning box which informs pilots that Concord cannot guarantee their safety. Again, the message is clearly displayed at the center of the screen.

Kinda hard to cry foul when these warning are clearly explained to you before you can commit to them. Roll

Sorry, but brand new players are usually at fault...as referenced by their complete idiocy when they refer to any type of build and cry about wondering why it got destroyed then threatening to report the other for attacking them when they were the ones that engaged the other/stole their stuff/etc...

"what if noobs attack you?"

I'd suggest that you kill them. Take the pod too, on the off chance they haven't upgraded it.

A lot of little psychopaths start playing this game because CCP promotes EVE as a fun alternative to other MMOs where you are not allowed to be a complete ****.

So these 'leet griefers' sign up and start shooting/stealing/scamming stuff right out of the gate without a clue as to the consequences of their actions. Then they either rage quit or learn the actual game as the case may be.

I tend to cut them some slack as they don't know any better.

Alts pretending to be noobs, on the other hand, are just straight up morons.

As far as I'm aware, the point at which CCP steps in is where someone parks outside a tutorial station and hands duel requests to two-hour-old newbies who don't know anything about anything even basic game mechanics.

I've never heard of GMs cracking down on killing someone who just happened to fit someone's arbitrary classification of "new"

Newbies attacking people is healthy.
