Currently training up as a new miner and noticed something odd about the fitting window in game..

I am using a Covetor with 3 Strip Miners

When I put in one Mining Laser Upgrade II it shows that I have 55.3 CPU Left over

That should be enough to fit the second MLU-II (which takes 40). When I hover over the module it shows that it fits.. but when I place it on the ship I get a message that I do not have enough CPU.

I know as soon as I train a few more skills this isn't going to matter anyways, but I am just wondering where these extra CPU's are being eaten up when I try to drop the module in.. or is this a bug with the ingame fitting window (where it doesn't accurately display cpu/powergrid numbers).

EDIT: think i figured it out.. the CPU penalty that the mod applies.. doesn't get applied when you hover over it.. i see the error of my ways lol

Don't use the ingame ship fitting information for anything. It's bad.

Use Pyfa or EFT.

Thanks.. I guess that is good to know, I do use EFT.. with keys from all my characters, but I always see a difference from what EFT says and what it shows in the one in game (slight differences in dps ect..). Good to know which one is the more accurate lol

The mining laser upgrades have a cpu penalty on the mining lasers themselves, so fitting 1 causes each mining laser to use up more cpu.

the ingame tool is either misleading or wrong. Don't trust it.
