Is it just me or are light blues and whites/light greys on layered metal the new theme for all futuristic games coming out.

Seriously, take that webpage and compare it to:
This
And this

They all have a metal cool tone going on here.
Unless it's big giant robots. When you have big giant robots you have to take on a more grey tone with gunmetal names.

Kind of like how most fantasy MOBA/MMO logos are exactly the same:

example 1: LoL
example 2: HoN
example 3: LotRO
example 4: WoW

Edit: back on topic, looks like a pretty cool game and for once my pc meets the recommended specs, might have to give it a try.

Yay, more spaceships games. I'm surprised of the number of spaceship games released and under development this past year.

Guess everyone is getting bored of the run of the mil FPS and other crap.

When you raise 19 million in crowd funding for Star Citizen something tells me others take notice.

so far this game is pretty freaking COOL! It's graphics need help but the controls are not bad at all.

It has planets that you can land your ship on! Is that a first in a space game? The only ones I've played are EVE and Jumpgate.

I think one of the wing commander games had this as well. Not a lot of games have it though. Easier to fly in space then in atmosphere I guess :p

Well there's that one space game that one developer has been working on for the better half of a decade that people like to occasionally boast as the next big thing. Damn me if I can't remember the name currently. We usually get like 3-5 threads a year with some poster talking about how awesome it is even though nothing new has shown up on it s website in like 3 years.

Sounds like Battlecruiser 3000 AD. Sadly I bought a boxed copy of that back in the day. Tried playing it but it would crash just as things got interesting.

There was a much more interesting game called Rules of Engagement that I wish I had gotten into. It was a tactical starship combat sim and they were working on separate squad level tactical sim for ship breaching and boarding.

Ah well... Wing Commanders came and went, two Privateer games (the second being the one I knew Clive Owen from) and my fondest memories of sunk time still come from Frontier: Elite and the X series games. A few life ages of the universe were spent on Civ games, and I miss Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, but I always came back to that "here's your starter ship, go forth and earn" experience.
