That's the point, nobody knows anything about the history of Somer, nor the exact details of the agreement between CCP and Somer.

What we DO know however, is that only 1 account per IP address is allowed. This means, if you have flatmates or a partner etc who plays EVE, only one may have a Somer account. More than one account per IP, means a ban from the games.

We also know that no matter what the agreement, this is still a very unfair way of distributing said goods. In effect, the leader of Somer has the final say of who gets the ships, and who does not. Agreements or not, that's a very unfair advantage to give to one person in a finite sandbox. Remember, we STILL have to pay Somer in order to have a chance at winning a ship. No matter how you look at it, that's not fair.

Well we know CCP did plex bidding to get in to the tournament so its possible they held a similar lottery as to which site could play.

The IP thing is up to Somer and I really dont get why seeing as each account is API linked, username and pwed, instanced and finally they make profit even if some one clicks off every single box with a well coordinated VPN (yes I am going into IT)
so really it just sounds like a reasons thing and maybe a mild give everyone a fair shot by preventing multiboxing, which is very much an eve thing.

Do people get a suspect flag for shooting the monument? And, if not, why not!

Its nice that buttheads are trying to create content but methinks they just want something dangled in front of them for this effort. Actually its not real good and poorly conceived. The last Jitat monument was Goon driven but at least people thought they were part of it themselves. Man you have to have grassroots for riots and revolutions, if they come from the top like last time, you atl least need to try to make us believe that we are acting on free will instead of being marionettes and muppets.

Back to the storyline screenplay generation software for you all. This doesn't rise to b grade science fiction flick by a long shot.

Thanks for the effort though I think they're will still be no Moons raining down SOE ships for you. Crying over spilt milk kinda deal. Sad story but I don't think that plot sells well, kind of antithetical to the hero theme ya know?

Well, we're not just talikng APi. We're talking audits, funding etc (yes, I know API is good for that in game, but let's face it, Somer is a gambling site too!).

Also, you failed to bring up the concern about the single account per IP. Please tell me, for couples playing EVE, or students gaining an education and sharing a flat who share in EVE (the list goes on, but you get the idea) how is this fair draw?

This is stupid. If you want to have an effect on CCP, "demonstrations" are useless. They've said as much themselves. If you want to make an impact, log off. If the Goons actually care about this (as their thread would suggest), then having an entire alliance logoff for a weekend would be a much better indicator to CCP.

Some goons care about it and others don't. I really don't see why that's so hard for you people to understand but it obviously is.

Maybe your leadership shouldn't name threads like Devswarm Op, implying a choherent, singular world view.

Edit: besides, the whole thing is over. CSM thread is out

Yeah, could create some interesting battles.

Not sure how I feel about the Somer thing. Third party fan site giveaways could be good but I've never used Somer and never will.

About time scammer scum had some sort of rules against them, even if they are as ridiculously limited as this one people are crying and whining about.

The fact that James 315 is crying about it too makes it all the more awesome in my opinion.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

Yeah you give us far to much credit, do you have any idea how many bags of cheetos would have to be dispensed to motivate most of us to care about this?

They enacted the impersonating rules because they planned on giving those shinies to SOMER, and didn't want anyone to scam people by impersonating SOMER people. Would make CCP look bad. That's my opinion anyway.

And oh yeah... only 2 people shooting the monument that I can see. Not much of a protest yet. Blink

No, they tightened up the language because a player edited Eve wiki pages to make it look like (a) his character was one of Chribba's alts and (b) that the ISD endorsed that alt. He then proceeded to steal trillions of isk in escrow funds as well as the super caps the victims thought they were trading, damaging the reputation of the big C in the process.

Just like in the real world breathtaking douchebaggery on that scale triggered tighter restrictions.
