Afternoon all fellow pod pilots,

Got a bit of a mystery on my hands atm with a new build i've not long built.

First specs:

amd apu a10-5800k

G-skill ripjaws 1600mhz 8gb (2x4gb)

OCZ 600w psu

Radeon 6970 running hdmi to a 32inch tv (audio on hdmi used also)

Asus F2A85-V

Windows 8 pro 64bit (and before anyone goes "windows 8" no it worked fine with my old build on windows 8)

now the odd thing, every other game i have runs perfectly fine none stop, no lockups, no errors, no crashing. Can play music, talk on teamspeak, steam voice etc etc all drivers are upto date (as far as i know)

Eve will run fine for 5minutes or 2hrs and at random will cause my comp to lock up. By lock up I mean a hard freeze which will involve a sound loop if i've got music playing also and me having to restart it.

So far i've uninstalled/reinstalled drivers/eve etc and I'm going to reseat all components soon if no other software based solution can be found. I've ran prime85 and memtest all come back fine after a good 8-10hrs test over night. So i'm stumped on this one temps on the apu hit 55c max on 3 clients and the gfx card isn't overheating at a steady 62c so its not a heat issue.

Any ideas peeps?

edit : reopened due to one client running at 42c caused computer to freeze, other games still run fine without crashes :/ completely confused now, gonna reseat hardware and test that

Right, reseated all components, and low and behold it looked like my sata connection had bulged out a smidge so the connection was wonky. strange how it only effected eve and nothing else but will test soon and see if its solved the problem.

Problem seems to have solved itself after reseating parts, must have been the wonky sata connection, if a dev can lock this as i've solved it now.
