Why armor again ? :(

Amarr are armor
Gallente are armor
Half of minmatar are armor

Capital ships are 90% armor.

Stop !!

PS : Could be the opportunity to make a shield drone boat other than a faction pirate ultra expensive.

Caldari are shield
Minmatar are shield

And nearly every f*cking pirate ship is SHIELD

I'm glad they gave those of us that specialize in armor a multi-race battleship worth flying. Compared to armor, shield is OP in so many aspects, from DPS to logi support. At least this is one step forward in the armor/shield balancing.

People say "oh shield can't fit ewar compared to armor!" and I say "BULLSH*T!" because nearly all shield ships have enough slots to hold a great shield tank and necessary ewar.

Mach is Armor
Vindi is Armor
Nightmare is Shield
Rattler is Sheild.....

YOu seem mad bro. and logi ? wtf armor logi is so much easier to fit that sheild.

Pretty sure the the Mach can be happily shield fit, same goes for the Vindi. (see just about every Shield incursion fleet, Alliance tournament last year ect ect.

Bhaal , not so much.

By every newbie doing the UDIE thing I mean doing the same by warping SOE ships 200km from enemy cloaked, painting it for assist with a fast long range lock manticore (fit to just lock from 100km) and warping out after sentry blaps. This will be the guerrilla stuff done easymode, no more elite required.

By this becoming the norm for warfare, the game will be less about manly punch contests, hence feminine.

At the rate we're going with the drone assist mechanic, they'll have just taken it out before we even get to the expac release.

Besides, if you're going to argue armor/vs shield...

Shield fit it anyway since it's a cov ops. Moar deeps. Twisted

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

A simple drone assist fix would be for it to require locking the assistee.

The good Guardian fits seem to be rather more expensive than good Basilisk fits.

Aside from that, when it comes to PvP I'm not seeing this "shield beats armour" thing at all. Shield ships do not have the mids for tank, prop mod, and good ewar/utility. They're also much easier to hit than armour ships (bigger signatures, nowadays armour ships aren't balanced by being slow), so they take more damage. Yes, armour reps are slower landing that first cycle, but they also have time (except vs. alpha strikes, but a good alpha strike leaves no time to land shield reps either) due to armour ships having their buffer (the shields) on the 'outside' rather than the 'inside' (like a shield ship with its armour under its shields). On top of that, armour ships tend to have more of their tank be totally passive (thanks to EANMs), so they're less vulnerable to being capped out and nuked while their tank is dead.

And then there's the very real thing that when the FC says "shield fleet" that means "Caldari and a couple of people in rust buckets". When they say "armour fleet" it means "anything but Caldari". There's a huge difference in choice there, in favour of armour. It also means that when you face a shield fleet you know it's going to be missiles, hybrids, and maybe a few autocannon/artillery, the odds of EM damage is pretty low, and drone are unlikely to be a major feature of the fight. Facing an armour fleet it could be anything, any damage type, and there could well be drone boats - armour is more versatile.

All shield ships really have going for them is more low slots free for DPS mods (and once you consider the option of putting tracking mods into the mids, it's not always a very big advantage).

Covops cloak drone assist is a bad idea. You'll have fleets pop out at 200km sniping unpenalized with warpstabs.

EDIT: for the people who don't know what this means, cloaky drone snipers have been a good thing since 2008. Using the drone assist bypasses all penalties from warpstabs and cloak, so your sentries hit stuff from 150-200km 3 seconds after decloaking and assigning them to your tackle.

Now you'll have fleets of these harassing people with no counter by having one ultra fast long range lock ship blapping with sentries from de-cloaking blobs of warpstabbed cloaky ships. These are bombers on high amounts of overpowered steroids.

1 No
2 How about no
3 Im sick off those carebears act all smart and ****
4 cloaking abandon your drones, so only u can use cloak to get in position, not for assisting then claoking, so nothing of your so called "clocky drone assisting"

Drones are like a little children, disobeying and annoying
