And CCP have also said that true Limited Edition ships like AT ships will not be re-released.

They said that about Gold Magnate.

as far as I know they haven't said it about the guardian vexor so I have no problem with them releasing more of those, even if lottery is a pretty stupid way to go about it

Please, CCP, please, don't do exactly whatever you want with your own IP. You'll drive down the value of the pixels!

Further, why must events be so bland as to involve winning what would probably rank in the top 5 of the most expensive ships in Eve simply by entering your name in a pot?

but its not simply just entering your name in a pot, its by entering your name in a pot controlled by a player, there is a big difference.

CCP, if you want to release these ships (and wether you should or not is a completely different topic imo), then do it on an account basis, 1 account = 1 possible entry, period, and not via a player corporation's isk making machine.

"..is extremely important for keeping players happy.."

I can imagne CCP Devs got a bombardment of whining petitions of players every day who want to fly/have superare ships without effort or can't/don't want pay for them.
Please CCP, don't open that door. It ruins a part of Eve's precious atmosphere severely.

Of course.

The chances of CCP backing down on this are next to nil. If anything, CCP is more than likely to double-down. Hell, they might even give you more Gold Magnates.

CCP, if you'll recall, doubled-down on Incarna and $60 monocles, until someone in the company said "Hey, we're actually losing accounts over this. A lot of accounts."

Since I doubt people are going to cancel accounts over this ... the Gold Magnates are not going to vanish from your prize pool. I might as well get a couple tickets in there.

But I will ***** about their decision in the meanwhile ... so hopefully it never happens again.

Just to throw my 2 cents into the ring...

It's a bloody gold ship, that's it... nothing special other than it's gold and rare. The fact that after all these years we are not able to simply paint our ships with whatever color scheme we want is a joke. There is no lore reason stating that someone could not come along and manufacture new magnates with a golden hue so whatever.

Guardian Vexor on the other hand is a different issue.... while having a few more in the world does make the world more interesting I can honestly say I wish they were different in such a way that they could be told apart. Perhaps remove a low slot, add a mid slot and call it a Siege Vexor.

Says you.

I believe Somer Blink is probably 99% fair. I have no idea if there's a 1% of the time that Somer rewards himself or protects his profit margins with some shady "random-number generation." Apparently CCP can't be sure either. Which is what makes this baffling. They could have easily run their own raffle (they've done so in the past), but elected to give Somer the opportunity to makes themselves much richer.

Idiotic. There is no other word to describe it.

If you want to hand out unique ships, create unique ships to hand out. Don't ruin the uniqueness of ships already in the game, even if they're so unique they've been lost forever. In fact, “lost forever” is the best reason to not do so since there is no legendary status that will ever beat that and since no game will ever offer the same.

Give Somer some Bronze Magnates and Steward Vexors if you have to, but let the historical ships be historical.

Rare Ships should stay rare.

They were made to be rare and declared rare. Evil

first off I dont agree ccp doing this to rare ship and im sure most of you feel that way

secondly like the OP said this is like destroying eve history

third - why are they giving these rare ships to somer blink? i dont agree with ccp favoring a 3rd party

I don't believe in artificial rarity.

They may be hard to get, they may given out at special circumstances, but there should be a chance for everyone to get one - even if it is merely theoretical.

There is/was always the chance. Earn enough isk and try to convince a holder of a rare item of selling it.

won't work with Gold Magnate.

As Goons are historically important to the game and still creating fresh content can we get some dev favoritism for once instead of having whatever bandwagon we're on nerfed every time without fail?

Let's face the truth. There will be only 2 Goldmagnates and 4 x Guardian Vexors. At the end ISK is the deciding aspect. Some ultraspacerich guys/collectors (chribba, entity etc.) will buy almost all tickets and win, or the average pilot wins one of those rare ships and sells it for some billions (trillions) to another superspacerich collector. Finally, the ships are as rare as before, and will collect dust in hangars like the others. So will the Goldmagnates. Never seen again... Lol

Adding two Gold Magnates is one (daft and un-eve) thing but adding them via a third-party-lottery-site is the height of silly.

Less favoritism please.
