CCP reintroducing the Gold Magate and adding in new Guardian-Vexors through Somer Blink

Honestly, I have little problem with them adding an extremely limited number of these ships back into the game. What I DO have a huge problem with is that they are going to be distributed not by CCP, but by a third party. Whether or not SOMER has been honest in the past we have no guarantees that they will be honest with this and no safeguards either.

What I would prefer to see is instead of the ships themselves being given out a series of single run BPC's. And instead of a lottery run by a third person have it be an escalation that runs 20 or 30 steps. Start it in Jita. Run through High-sec, low, null and WH space. Have it incorporate all the activities in Eve. One escalation section needs some minerals mined, another combat, another hacking and so forth.

Make this sort of thing a reward for the person or group that plays all aspects of Eve. Make the series of escalations a journey across the width and breadth of the Eve universe. Showcasing all that it has to offer.


And then, at the end, with the BPC in their hands, the successful groups can choose to build the ship, sell the bpc, do nothing at all with it, or destroy it completely.

Or as the guys who are running this are spouting about using Chribba's dice for the illusion of being fair ( it is an illusion as you only got their word they haven't rigged it. ) why not give these ships to the single most trusted person in Eve to hand out ?

Somer is rich enough to buy their own prizes, they don't need CCPs help and already have a community spotlight. Content created: zero. First time playing eve that i feel like unsubbing an account or 2.


This, esp like the tuskers idea, dunno if they could be trusted but it be a lot more fitting for them or a group like them get to run something Rp-lite and use one of these as a prize, Tuskers and other groups actually ADD content to Eve while Somer blink takes content away from eve in the form of one of the biggest isk divertions and encouraging people to not play eve but to enter a rather crude gambling site which is amazingly good at keeping those slots filled and turning over. :)

Also to all the people who say "They are only introducing 4 more GVs whats the big deal stop complaining" given the that there is only an estimated 20 left in play do you think an increase of 20% is not significant from an economic point of view?

Why not. Gives people something to talk about/divert their attention if there's no real content in the winter expansion.
