I don't post a tremendous amount but I had to say something here.

CCP it is your game and you can do with it what you bloody well want too in the end you will. However, I think this kind of special give away goes against the prime directive of no direct influence that favors one player/organization over another.

In view of this fact how can this type of give away to "ANY" single organization be something that makes "ANY" sense to you???QuestionRollShockedSad

If CCP want to give away a few shinies for publicity, why don't they do it themselves?

Handing them to a player group, who will use them as part of their for-profit operations, is rather disgusting.

This is Crazy, You are giving a massive amount of free isk to the richest man in eve when you know he is buying up all the unique ships and fixing the prices. Not to mention dropping the value of the ships already in the game.

If you are going to do this sort of thing it would be nice to see even handed treatment for the other lotteries in eve. EOH Poker is another great example of a neglected 3rd party that has existed for far longer and has not been given any help.

It is very worrisome that CCP is being very hush-hush about this and while they can, and would be absolutely right, argue that EVE is their IP. I have to ask if they also think that destroying EVE history that was written by their players is within their right as well?

The ideal solution here is if CCP creates a unique ship for the EVE Vegas event.

Again, hand out Bronze Magantes and Steward-Vexors if you want, CCP — that achieves the same thing without ruining the history of the game. And if you want to give stuff to player-run competitions, do what you've always done and spread the PLEX love.

The combination of two very bone-headed mistakes in this case is what makes it such a ridiculously obvious wrong thing to do (which, in turn, makes the mind boggle as to why the hell you're doing it) and why everyone who's not a troll is shouting at you.

The reintroduction of unique ships is a very real and concerning game issue that can be argued well in either direction. It's also entirely irrelevant here.

Giving hundreds of billions of isk arbitrarily to a group of players the devs decide they like is NEVER acceptable.
