Oh give it a break. Theyre not gonna flood the market with the damn things. I swear eve players are more than ever before trying really hard to find things to cry about.

Signed. Stop the freaking whining already.

I don't have enough clothes, my marauder isnt living up to it's price, Guardian-Vexor 51 to 54 is going to be released and therefore EVE is going to hell.

Please.

Stop crying.

It makes perfect sense for ccp to hand these out to a player driven enterprise. You whiners are forgetting how much of eve is player driven.

How many of you nerds would be whining if ccp gave these ships to YOU to hand out after you'd shown yourself to be trustworthy?

How has somer shown that they are trustworthy? By not cheating 100% of the time?

EDIT: also whether somer is trustworthy or not is only one of the many issues players have about this idea.

Oh wait, another reason to have a juicy QQ.

I would get every single one of them CONCORDOKKEN to make sure no new history is created with those ship copies.

They will affectively NOT attain thier stated goal from the dev post because there is no way in hell the player base will consider 6 collectible ships worth too damn much to ever be undocked "gameplay content".

This is a ridiculously stupid idea. If you want to give out unique ships, make new unique ships.

If you must give out rare and limited ships, don't be stupid enough to give them out via a lottery. People hated the T2 Lottery, I thought you'd finally learnt from that, and now not only do you repeat your mistakes, but you do it in a way that let's a third party fansite earn billions/trillions more ISK?

This is bad idea. You devalue the price of old tournament prize. Who will believe you in the future when you say the prize will be unique and rare?

I'm surprised you people are surprised. It's that special time of the year again where CCP goes 'whooptiedaisy' and slips out over a banana they put down there them selves and keeps sliding down the room flat on their face.

- It's the same as with the ghost training debacle: it was a bug vs. it was a documented feature.
- Chribba's high sec titan being moved by a GM to low sec, 'yes we had rules but forgot to write them down'.
- Pixels worth 60 bucks.
- Greed is good vs. 'no, nothing is going to change we'll have no golden ammo'.
- Stay the course.
- Asking players to vote for eve as best game right after a devblog states that the next 18 month's nothing will be done to fix eve's lingering issues.
- $1000 pants
- Titans you could target paint (ccp nozh)
- Ships appearing out of thin air in the nex $tore, 'it currently cannot process any blue prints we're working on it and it's only a test'.
- Just 99.- dollar will it cost you to develop 3d party EVE apps (a year of course).

And the list goes on and on.

Why the surprise? Its a recurring event! Lol

Absolutely true. CCP could have easily approached this with the issuance of a reskinned version of the existing ships. Scorpion Ishukone Watch was a good example. These newly minted ships had solid trading value in excess of 15B which were issued about a half year ago.

Just merely a half year away, CCP decided to spit on the faces of the current owners of these unique ships by promulgating more of these ships into the market. I also remember a CCP response where someone asked the likelihood of Ishukone Scorpion Watch from being handed out again in the future, where CCP gave an adamant "no" for the answer.

Seriously, just 6 months away...

I do not have vested interest in Ishukone Scorpion Watch, but CCP reissuing these unique ships are completely against their existing and stated policies.

Here is another quote from CCP Goliath:

"Seriously, we won't be bringing back the old unique ships for events. We might give other stuff away that is interesting, but no Guardian Vexor, Opux Luxury Yacht, Fedthron, Impoc, SIR, etc, etc."

CCP, seriously, is Marketing Department dictating all your moves now?

Are you being completely blind? Once this happens, it is most certain that MORE UNIQUE SHIPS will be flooded in the market.

In the case of the Gold Magnate there are no more left in game, so what exactly is the value of a non-existent ship?Blink

Maybe you are just a bit slow, so let me try to explain. 4 ships are not creating anything content wise, that is true. And this is actually the problem. The only purpose is to make Somer a crapton of (additional) ISK and devalue the original unique ships. As a side effect you can trash the history connected to them because, well, it's not relevant anymore.

/edit: If Somer want to make lotteries with those ships they should buy them in the game, but this is total and utter favoritism.

Uh, yeah. Never cheating (despite many chances to) during years of operating is pretty much the definition of trustworthy.

To your edit, yes, i understand eve players are whining about more then one thing. What a shocker.

I would not 'whine' if CCP gave the ships to me, but I would consider it to be manifestly unfair.

Also I am trustworthy, a fault when playing Eve I know, but there it is.

Oh great, another example of CCP going back on their word. Next years débâcle may well be the return of "greed is good" and $1000 pants (on heads).

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Can someone with a CCP nametag please explain to me why Somer Blink was selected to hold a lottery and be given what is, essentially, at least a trillion free ISK plus countless USD from additional sales of GTCs through their game site due to increased player traffic from this event?

Because if there's one thing this game doesn't need, it's CCP handing players more free and undeserved money.
