Why was the mines taken out of the game? i thik it woud be rather kewl to be able to set up minefields. yes yes i understand the problem this will casue with gate camps. but you could limit how many can be places with in x distance of a object. could be funz :)

I belive that they didn't have an expiery timer, so you could have left the system and boom you got a kill and a nice visit from concord. And quite abit of lag involved as well..

Warp distruptors, in a way, are the new minefield.

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

Train up 10 or so alt accounts, get them into smart-bombing battleships, place them into a field.

Voila, portable and reusable minefield.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Of course it's fun for the one laying them.

Long time ago in the original DX multiplayer you could go into an empty level and rig the whole place with gas and lam grenades (gas+lam=double whammies), then hide somewhere and wait for the first visitors to enter.

It was fun for the one who laid them but the other way around a horrible game experience.

Glad they're gone.

Lag mostly. I'd certainly like CCP to put together something similar in the future.

(like a fueled module that self replicates mines until "swept" or runs out of fuel)

No, your idea is awful. If you think mines are a good idea you arent thinking straight.

I had the same idea. It sounds fun in theory, but not so fun when you guys describe how they really worked out.

I do like the idea of mines but only in certain areas ie.

Happy miner checks low sec and nobody about.

Undocks and warps to a belt full of ores.

BAMMM!!

fookers dead

1 less miner for the day

Big smile

Quoting "you will die" in EvE is fail Chars dont die in EvE. Unless you have a heart attack eek.

Constant 'is there something in my trigger range' checks aren't good for servers.

Who needs mines anyway when you have mining lasers?

Cos we'd all be restrained about laying them honest

Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

So....a thousand man blob moves through a pipe. On the outbound side of each gate they each drop a single mine. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
