Was the autoscan changed?

When Odyssey was first released, entering a new system would trigger an autoscan which would display in space a little diamond for each anomaly or signature in the system and slap a nameplate up next to it to show what it was; after a short time these scan results would depop.

As of a couple of weeks/patches ago, my autoscan now only shows the diamonds with no nameplates. If the scanner is set to "always on" the nameplates will show, but in the default "fade after a little while" setting all I get are the diamonds.

Was this an actual change in the coding, or is it likely time to blow the dust out of my video cards' heat sinks again?
