Open letter to Ashen Shugar: how do you get 18,000 kills?

Apparently he camps in Egghelende. It's weird though, I lived in Egghelende for a bit and I never encountered him.

I don't think he camps the Uni of Cal undock, because one guy in an Omen can't fight EPA no matter how leet he is.

I haven't seen him on the egg->sis gate, which I've traveled through a ton on my way to do faction war stuff.

Also haven't seen him on the jel->egg gate, which I've moved minerals through in a hauler before. Or maybe I did see him there but I got away because I was stabbed?

Anyways most of his kills seem to be non Amarr militia, which is strange since Egghelende is the staging system for fweddit and other Amarr militia corps. You generally need to use bookmarks to dock/undock from uni of cal if you're not amarr militia.

He's really active around 8 o clock eve time. Maybe I'll try and find where he's camping and interview him for you folks.

How come I can't find his KB on either Eve-Kill or Battleclinic?

I was hunting for sick loot, but all I could get my hands on were 50 corpses[:|]..............[:=d]

Ashen is an EVE saint and you can only see the killboards of saints if you are at least 5 years old.

Since you are discussing a very old character, it is possible that the guy had a titan back when doomsdays were area effect weapons that could one-shot almost every subcapital in range - like a super large smart bomb (I understand that for a short while, you could even fire it through a jump bridge). That would explain how one could get thousands of kills.

Or maybe instead of speculating how he got his kills, you might check his killboard.

For those who want to check it out, his character name is AshenShugar01 and he's been consistently getting on average around 300 kills per month while only getting killed a couple of times per month. The guy is definitely pro.

Something looks amiss in that killboard that's all I have to say.

if you look here: http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=AshenShugar01&page=2#kills

Look at page 2 at the top two kills, the Thorax & Cormorant - the kills are 5 min apart yet he used two different ships?? I mean really?? In the amount of time it took to fly back to a station and or POS, and get into a new ship and fly back to the target assuming he knew where he was it seems a little sketchy to me.

If not.....props to him....damn impressive.

He was in Heretics for a stint a while back and he spent a good deal of time in a Covops Tengu at the time and just roamed around low sec killing anything and everything he thought he could beat. The Tengu was mildly shiny fit and so was able to handle quite a bit on it's own. When he eventually lost it he just started using something else and his ship of choice seems to change frequently enough.

He's a top quality pilot and good guy to fly with in general, I would still come to help him out in a heartbeat if he found a carrier or something that was catchable but he'd need help to kill. He wouldn't call for backup at any other time anyway.

I Imagine he's doing more of the same now, his ship of choice is always changing but the results are still the same.

Ashen lives in low sec, if he was in his home system at the time chances are he has a small fleet of ships fitted and ready to go in system and so changing them out in 5 minutes would be a simple matter. I can and have done this easily in Amamake for example, because at any point I probably have at least 20 ships ready to undock and fight, changing to the right ship for an engagement takes far less than 5 minutes.

His kills are legit, everything he posted while in Heretics appeared in the Heretic war report. I get the impression he just likes to hunt and knows his board looks strong enough without faking kills.

EDIT: the kills you were specifically referring to are now a few pages down but they are both in the same system and one of his most active systems as well so I suspect it was easy to kill the cormorant, dock, change ships, undock, and kill Thorax. Like I said, deadly quick on his scanners.
